Otóż tak, rodzicielstwo zmienia ludzi nieodwracalnie, i tak zamiast wsiąść w samolot i lecieć w tropiki, postanowiliśmy spędzić zimowe ferie w Ustroniu.
Well yes, parenthood changes people irreversibly, and so instead of getting on a plane and flying to the tropics, we decided to spend our winter break in Ustroń.
Zimno, szaro, paskudnie. Nieprawda? No, dobra, muszę przyznać, że w górskim anturażu jakoś ta zima lepiej znośna.
Cold, gray, nasty. Right? Well, okay, I have to admit that in the mountain setting this winter is somehow more bearable.
Póki co my tam tylko w dolinie, ale białe, ośnieżone góry zerkały na nas kusząco. Oj, weszłoby się, weszło. Ale nie z Bombelkami. Jeszcze przez jakiś czas nie. Dwójka do noszenia to trochę za dużo, nawet jak na parę małżeńską. Bombel coś tam by wszedł, ale na pewno nie na całą górę.
For now, we're only in the valley, but the white, snowy mountains were looking at us temptingly. Oh, we could go in, we could go in. But not with the Bombels. Not for a while yet. Two to carry is a bit too much, even for a married couple. The Bombel would go in there, but definitely not the whole mountain.
No ale. Rozpakowaliśmy się, zrobiliśmy zakupy w pobliskiej Biedrze, poczekaliśmy na znajomych, którzy nie dotarli, i postanowiliśmy pójść na późno popołudniowy spacer, żeby coś z tego dnia skorzystać przed zapadnięciem zmroku. A wychodząc przez ogród znalazłam takie zamarznięte bazie. Bardzo dorodnej wielkości. Kurde, w połowie lutego??
We unpacked, did some shopping at the nearby Biedra, waited for friends who hadn't arrived, and decided to go for a late afternoon walk to make the most of the day before dusk. And when I was walking out through the garden, I found these frozen catkins. Very nice size. Damn, in mid-February??
Aby dojść nad Wisłę, trzeba przejść kawałek wzdłuż drogi bardziej uczęszczanej, a potem skręcić w taką boczną. Niestety, droga była czarna, a mówię niestety - bo Bombelek podróżował saniami ciągniętymi przez kochanego Tatusia. Musieli więc chłopcy cisnąć poboczem.
To get to the Vistula, you have to walk a bit along a more frequented road, and then turn onto a side road. Unfortunately, the road was black, and I say unfortunately - because Bombelek was traveling in a sleigh pulled by his beloved Daddy. So the boys had to push along the side of the road.
Dotarliśmy nad Wisłę, a tam... znów rozczarowanie, ścieżka czarna ;) na szczęście na dole leżał śnieg. Zwykle ten dół jest raczej nie do przejścia ze względu na chaszcze. Zimą, z sankami - idealnie.
We reached the Vistula, and there... another disappointment, the path was black ;) luckily there was snow at the bottom. Usually this hole is rather impassable because of the thickets. In winter, with a sled - perfect.
A w oddali majaczy blado... wielka chmura? Nie, Czantoria.
And in the distance looms pale... a large cloud? No, Czantoria.
Chłopaki dołem, ja górą. Tu na przykład przyuważyli ślady bytności ustrońskich bobrów.
The boys are below, I am above. Here, for example, they noticed traces of the presence of Ustroń beavers.

Znalazłam też w oddali stok narciarski, i mimo że zimy i nart brzydzę się bardziej niż komarów latem, to uwieczniłam na zdjęciach.
I also found a ski slope in the distance, and even though I hate winter and skiing more than mosquitoes in summer, I immortalized it in photos.

Droga długa jest, nie wiadomo czy ma kres. Pora wracać, bo robi się późno, a w dodatku jest zimno. W domu czeka nagrzany kominek i gorąca herbata.
The road is long, it is not known whether it will end. Time to return, because it is getting late and, what is more, it is cold. A warm fireplace and hot tea await at home.
Choć jeszcze tam u nas zaszliśmy na pole ostatni raz spojrzeć na jej wysokość Czantorię. Niebo nieśmiało płonęło i tworzyło piękną scenerię.
Although we still went to the field there to look at her height Czantoria one last time. The sky was shyly burning and creating a beautiful scenery.
