Here is my contribution to BeerSaturday 380 and as promised we are back in Quebec with this NEPA, Float from the Montreal brewery BreWskey. I had already reviewed this brewery's Alto CR, an Oat Cream IPA, on BeerSaturday 369, which I really enjoyed. So when my eyes fell on this design, I couldn't resist 😀.

J'avais déjà présenté la Alto CR de cette brasserie, une IPA Oat Cream. lors du BeerSaturday 369 que j'avais bien apprécié. Alors quand mon regard s'est posé sur ce design je n'ai pas pu résisté 😀.

📜 Brewery / Brasserie :
Not much has changed since the last post. But as a reminder, BreWskey was founded in 2015 by Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud and Derrick Robertson. As always with this brewing adventure, it's a group of friends with a passion for beer and whisky, hence the name. They started by opening a taproom in Old Montreal at the Marché BonSecours, and since 2019 they've been brewing their own beers, mostly IPAs.
Il n'y a pas de grand changement depuis le post précédent. Mais pour rappel, BreWskey a été fondée en 2015 par Karine Amyotte, Guillaume Couraud et Derrick Robertson. Comme toujours dans cette aventure brassicole, c'est un groupe d'amis passionnés de bières et de whisky d'où le nom. Ils ont commencé par lancer une taproom dans le Vieux Montréal au Marché BonSecours et depuis 2019 ils brassent leurs propres bières, surtout des IPA.
🍺 Tasting / Dégustation :
Float is a NEPA with 5.5% alcohol, a New England Pale Ale. It is brewed with Citra, Krush and HBC 1019 hops. In the glass, you'll find the hazy appearance of a NEPA due to the yeast particles in suspension, with a lovely yellow-orange colour topped by a thick white head. On the palate, the characteristics of this type of beer are also present, with a low bitterness and intense tropical fruit aromas. It's quite smooth on the palate, if you can call for a beer. It was perfect for facing the first cool autumn evenings.
La Float est une NEPA avec 5.5% d'alcool, une bière originaire de la Nouvelle Angleterre aux Etats-Unis (New England Pale Ale). Elle a été brassée avec les houblons Citra, Krush et HBC 1019. Dans le verre, on retrouve l'aspect brumeux des NEPA dû aux particules de levure en suspension avec une belle couleur jaune orangée surmonté d'un col épais blanc. En bouche, là aussi on retrouve les caractéristiques de ce type de bière c'est à dire une faible amertume avec des arômes intenses de fruits tropicaux. Le tout est assez moelleux en bouche si on peut dire cela d'une bière. Elle était parfaite pour affronter les premières soirées fraiches de l'automne.
Design
As for the design, I don't know which artist created this illustration. I like the style, with the hot air balloon in the shape of a hop being piloted by this gentleman. I don't know if it's suitable for a beer, though. Although his mission was successful, the design caught my eye and my brain said 'it's good, buy it' 😅.
Niveau design, je ne sais pas quel artiste a réalisé cette illustration. J'aime beaucoup le style avec cette montgolfière en forme d'houblon pilotée par ce gentlemen. Par contre, je ne sais pas si cela est adapté pour une bière. Bien que sa mission a été un succès, le design a attiré mon oeil qui a dit à mon cerveau : "c'est bon, achète" 😅.

I would buy this beer just because of the can, it is really well done and interesting! The beer also looks fantastic though. I have never had such a hazy IPA as in South Africa, most beers are filtered; maybe the market doesn't like the hazy beers, not sure. But I agree with you, I am not sure the art on the can looks like a beer, people might mistakenly buy it for a softdrink haha.
I've been really enjoying NEIPA or NEPA for a while now, with their rather cloudy color and tropical fruit taste. It's true that the design is special, but it really caught my eye. So marketing mission accomplished 😀
Same here! But our options here are much more limited. Enjoy and I agree, the art/marketing was some of the best I have seen!
