There are days that seem like they go by in the blink of an eye, and then there are days that seem endless. If you are a busy person like me, it probably crosses your mind at some point that if you simply recorded all of the things you did -- the meetings, conversations, emails, projects, phone calls, checklist items checked off, shopping, errands, and do-for-others tasks that happened in a day -- you could fill a book. All in one day.
A lot of my days are like that, and today was a doozy. It was one of those days where I felt like I had plates spinning. Many of them. And as soon as I got three or four of them going, someone would stop by my desk, or I could get a text from one of my kids, or my phone would ring and it was someone I actually needed to talk to. When that interruption was done, I would look at all the spinning plates, and they were wobbling.
At one point, one of my coworkers tried for the fifth or maybe tenth time that day to answer a simple question with a long explanation, and I simply told him to shut his pie hole. “Why does every single question result in a long winded answer?” I asked him. “I’m asking you for a date, and you’re telling me why things are delayed and lengthy descriptions of the personalities involved in the project. That is not an answer to “when do you think that will be done?”
I may be losing my mind.
That said, I did get out for a nice little walk this evening! Here is a picture i grabbed of clouds and setting sun.
Thank you for visiting my blog, and for letting me rant!

Maybe we'll find each other since both our minds are gone LOL
I hope so! It’s lonely out here in la la land! 😆
No stress. Chill...and great activity btw...
Great advice. Thank you, @psyceratopsb. 😁

Days like these just happen at times! And I'll just give those annoying "speeches" a quick reply of "summarize the answer"...lol.
A nice walk in the evening is always a good way to wind down for a while!
So true! Thank you, @lilacse!

My dear there are loads of days like that for me too, but I think working and listening to soft music, oldies, country and other cooling stuff helps relax me a bit.
As Bill Ocean said in one of his song "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going..."
You are a tough lady, so you drive the pack😁 loads of people are counting on you my dear.
Well done.

I listen to “spa music.” It’s the kind of melodic stuff the play when you get a message. And I wear a big old head set so it’s obvious I’m in my work zone. It helps! Thanks for the kind words, as always, @ketcom!

Sometimes it’s useful to go out and take a little walk)
It really is. I find it very calming!

Gotta keep walking
Indeed. I wonder if you can walk away from your worries and responsibilities! 😆

Nothing like a little walk to clear the tension, @jayna
People can be a tad frustrating sometimes. Nice 12k steps.

Yes, they certainly can! But that is to be expected in the working world. You don't get to choose your coworkers. Fortunately the one that has to be told to zip it takes it really well! And we remain on good terms. So I'm thankful for that!
@jayna - I thought those Plate Spinning Days were over for me when I retired, but NOPE. It's endless. And I still don't have my story done for @steemfiction - all done but the ending and every time I sit down to finish it, something comes up. How are you coming with yours?
I'm finally working on it diligently, @blueeyes8960. Life was just so crazy for a while. This weekend I only had one social event, two overnight guests, two baseball games, shopping to do for my college daughter and furniture to move for my older daughter. It feels like a cake walk! So... hopefully I'll seal this thing up within a day or two!
