I did lots of yard work today, mostly mowing the lawn and pulling weeds. I also played 18 baskets of disc golf with my son.
I think I was trying to throw the disc too hard though, some of the baskets on the back nine are par four. I ended up feeling some muscle pain in the back and may have to take some time off to heal up or switch to throwing with my left arm again. I kind of like throwing with my left arm but I can't throw as far or as accurately.
I'm sure you all have heard the news about Notre-Dame having a fire. I feel sorry that this happened. I was there several years ago on vacation and took these photos. I thought I would share them for the memories.
These were taken by me with a point and shot digital camera that did not have as good results as compared with today's cameras. Some of the pictures came out a bit blurry because of the low light, crowds and lack of tripod. Digital camera quality has improved a lot.
This trip was such a good experience, I hope that they will be able to save and restore these art works and this structure.
Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Nikon. Text and graphics copyright lightsplasher & litesplasher.
It sucked to hear about that fire 😕 You can tell it really impacted French culture...

Oh yes, late last night, I learned about this horror from the news, I hope that everything is not so terrible and it can be restored. Thanks for the photo, I have never been there.
Thanks for sharing your Notre Dame pictures. I am so sad. I will look through for some of my old photos tomorrow. Like you said, Just For The Memories. It is such a special place
Your welcome and thank you. I feel likewise.
What a great loss the fire was to the people of Paris and really the world. I am heartened though that so much was saved. For me, I was worried after those beautiful rosetta windows. Most accounts suggest they were saved; although, somewhat heat damaged. I have some very old film photos around someplace in a box. I will have to dig them out.
Congratulations on your actifit activity, that's a nice count. I still can't believe what's happened. I was watching the news last night for hours and my heart was aching.
I hope they're going to rebuild it, although that would happen from one day to another. I've heard the restoration work that has been going on has taken up all the budget they could afford. Now all that is gone and the majority of the cathedral burned down.
At least I am among the lucky ones who had the chance to visit it.
It is hard to imagine it even catching fire. There seemed to be so much stone work and not so much to burn. I don't know much about its construction though. It is very sad that this has happened.
Construction started in the 12th century and back then stone was the most used construction material. However, the roof structure was made of wood. That was the only way they could do domes.
Take care not to strain yourself with your disc golf games @lightsplasher maybe just plant some vegetables in your garden for a while.
Anyway the Notre Dame is a very imposing structure and very beautiful of its kind.
Yes, thank you. It will be good to do some easier activities for awhile.
Sending Reiki BeautyFull 💯
😞I also hope they are able to save & restore the structure 💕
Much Reiki Love 💖Thank you for Being #Actifit 🙏

@Actifit ModeratorYes such a shame. Stuff there is so much older than the stuff we have here!
Take it easy on the back! I don't suppose either of us are 18 anymore ;)
Yes, anytime things that were cherished get damaged it is hard. I was impressed with all the historical buildings and art that are there.
Every time I over do it I get concerned about season ending injuries or tendentious that won't go away. Lucky for me my arm feels much better today and I think it was just overuse. You have to stay active but as you age it you get much more prone to injury. Thanks!
very beautiful architecture.
thank you @lightsplasher for sharing

Nice pictures shared. Nice actifit count also. Hope you have a great day
Hey, @lightsplasher.
This week, Notre Dame seemed to be a big topic, especially among those of you have actually been there and experienced it. I've been amazed by how people have been so moved by what happened.
It does sound like there will be money available to rebuild it, if they manage not to delay and draw it all out, thus squandering it, and hopefully, as you said, some of the statutes and artwork were saved since some had been removed while it was under renovation.
It sounds like you got plenty done with the yard work. Weather must have been nicer where you're at than it's been where I am. Not complaining too much, but it's probably time to get going in the garden.
I've yet to play frisbee golf, but I have a friend who really enjoys it. He lives in Utah and I don't, so it hasn't happened. Probably should find out where they even have a course around here and see if I can't haul my two sons out for an hour or so. I used to love to throw the frisbee when I was younger. Now, I'm afraid I'd pull more than just my arm muscles. :)
