Recognizing the human voice, new tech gadgets can play music, search the web, shop online, check the weather, and even switch on the lights or control the central heating. But while we get to know these new interactive electronics, a report last week sounded the alarm over the implications of rapidly improving artificial intelligence.
They listen, they talk and very soon, according to some experts, they will be taking over our homes, our jobs and our lives. Thousands of Americans unwrapped voice-activated electronic devices on Christmas Day. Amazon's Alexa service, Apple's Home Pod, and Google's Home speakers were among the best-sellers.
The study, from the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) warns of thousands of jobs being lost to robots and those with those on lowest wages likely to be hardest hit. As it becomes more expensive to hire people for work because of government intervention like minimum wage hikes and overbearing regulations, more companies are shifting to robotics to save money on labor.
Of course, this all leads to humans needing to compete with artificial intelligence and robots for jobs. Joe Joseph of The Daily Sheeple says that "nothing could go wrong" sarcastically. "That means bracing perhaps the research of Neuralink, Elon Musk's company, and 'neural lace'," says Joseph. "Because nothing could possibly go wrong by creating a nano-particulate web that actually goes on your brain. ..over your brain…and provides a machine-brain interface."
"I would imagine that there'd be some sort of transmission system associated with that," Joseph continued.
"And nothing like putting a transmission system, albeit tiny, directly on your brain. 'Cuz we don't get cancer enough in this country."
Of course, there are a few ways humanity can benefit from A.I., especially when used the right way.
"How cool would it be to just be able to walk down the street and communicate with anybody, because, you know, instantly at your fingertips you have the translation to every language out there," says Joseph. The technology is there for that, however, and it could so many people some good.
"This is coming like a freight train at full speed," Joseph continued.
The good and the bad are both coming whether we like it or not.
Most of the farmers ended up finding other jobs. That's how humanity evolve. We wouldn't have movies and video games if people were just farmers. AI will force people to become more creative and think creative. People who go to college expecting to secure a job will be utterly screwed and that's a good thing because those places are just brainwashing facilities that kill off all the imagination and critical thinking.
Who's going to write poetry and make movies? Who's going to improve the tech and develop AI. Life is more than eat, sleep, procreate and die. Farmers must have never thought of Star Trek, Starcraft, Space Travel, VR, Blockchain, Submarines, man made islands, mobile phones, teleporters, space colonization, Faster than Light travel, holograms etc etc etc.
Through the history the great minds and artists and creative sparks around the globe suffered and was let down. Finally it's payback time. Most of the works of the college kids will be handed over to machines and a person's own creativity and intelligence will become what decide that person's standing in the society. That almost sound Utopian to me.
I just sincerely hope that AI would be kept out of wars and get used to replace repetitive non-creative obs instead of replacing soldiers.
The advance in robotic intelligence can be viewed as a good thing for the disabled who might need extra help around the house giving a semblance of independence to those in need but at the same time it spells disaster for workers in factories and even supermarkets as automated tills and robots to manufacture parts etc will take jobs leaving more and more unemployed. That in turn causes a strain on finances and the economy will suffer.
I am sure that the makers of ' science fiction' back in the '60's never dreamed that their fantasies would be our reality one day.
The robot's overall installation is a mechanical structure and can be called a kinetic chain (its function is similar to a human skeleton). The chain consists of links (bones), valves and actuators s (muscles), and joints that can allow degrees or degrees of freedom. Most contemporary robots use open chain sequences in which each link connects between the last and subsequent links. These robots are called serial robots, often resembling the human arm. Some robots, such as the Stewart platform, use a closed parallel kinetic chain. Other structures, such as those that mimic the mechanical structure of humans and different animals, are relatively rare. However, the development and use of such structures in robots is an active field of research (eg biomechanics). Robots are used as processors as their ends are linked to the last link. This transponder which is finally located can be anything from a soldering device to a mechanical hand used to process the environment.
Power Source Edit
At present most robots are used (lead batteries) but potential energy sources can be:
Pneumatic (compressed gases)
Hydraulic (Compressed Fluids)
Flywheel energy storage
Organic waste (through anaerobic digestion)
Feces (human and animal); may be interesting in military context as the feces of small combat groups that can be used to meet the energy needs of the robot helper (see Project Deica's Slingshot Engine Stirling Engine for how the system operates)
Sources of energy are still untested (eg cell, atmosphere ...)
Rechargeable battery sources such as Arab gameplay (such as the suggested Ford car for the '50 '), and other sources such as those suggested in films such as the Red Planet : D
A lot of Movies becoming true just in a decade!!!
Humans always think they control everything, but the true is that we can´t even control our own body or brain.
Obviously there are a lot of benefits using nanobots, nano-particulate web on the brain, etc... But before we evolve so much we need to start thinking, and I say start because nothing is being done to adapt us to what is coming. As you said in the video in 8 years telepathy could be a thing!
@zer0hedge - I stongly believe that in future AI will play a large role in biotechnology and it wouldn't be surprising if a few decades down the line humans are able to integrate AI into their own body for improved functioning - a kind of cyborg existence.
Technology always has a good side and a bad one. This is the nature of it.
Too many fear AI believing that AI will be like humans. Yes it is learning how to think so it will be intelligent. Humans are not intelligent, they are emotional. Few decisions are rational. We operate from fear, anger, greed and transpose these emotions onto AI. This is the Terminator scenario where AI could be threatened. How does AI know how to feel threatened? How can it feel?
We are already merging with AI. At present most of us carry around smart phone which expand out knowledge bases to all that mankind has. The fact it is separate from it is only temporary. But what about those with pacemakers? That is AI in the body...at they still human?

It's coming either way.
Artificial intelligence is the simulation of human intelligence by machines.

Good post ..
I always follow your post ..
👍👍👍
I just want a robot girlfriend
great information,i like your post
thanks for sharing
Thanks for informing us where the world is heading to especially this era of robotic and nanoparticle and the impact it has on mankind.which means that smart people should be in a serious adjustment to benefit from it instead of waiting for the negative impact of it to befall on us
AI can have may job as long as I get the money haha.
Hi @zer0hedge I am new here but have quickly found you and your articles which i like very much. Quick question; all the articles you post are from www.Zerohedge.com but it says you are not affiliated with them in your profile. I would like to know how if you are not affiliated with them you are legally allowed to replicate their content here? Is this allowed by steemit / Zerohedge.com and / or not frowned upon? You seem to be the official channel for Zerohedge.com so to me that would seem fine (I guess?), but I would like to know how this works, just from a curiosity point of view and because as i said I am new here. Many thanks, Dylan
Humans have shown that they have little use for economically useless other species, if we can't colonize them, enslave them, kill them or eat them. Why would AI programmed by humans deviate from this? If we can't answer that question we've got a problem coming
What actually happened to Ray kurzweil?
#Tyler what do you think of humans being AI or AGI?
That's a great news @zer0hedge
