As a healthcare employer, I believe that I bear a bit of responsibility to be a good example... and there may be several ways to do this... consider:
- making it known to my team when I take time off for such visits... as well as when I take my children to theirs
- extra time off for wellness and prevention - that doesn’t deplete ETO
- workplace wellness events (BP screen, immunization, dietary counseling, etc.)
- coworkers can encourage each other and volunteer to cover during appointments
- other rewards such as bonuses, vouchers, or even they can pick the theme for a carry in lunch /potluck
