The king of Atlantis was the Atlantean Atlas, of Atlantis (the country of Atlantis, the inhabitants of Atlanta), everything is logical here. The first mention of Atlantis was described by Plato (427–347 BC) in the dialogues of Timaeus and Critias. Plato learned about it from his grandfather Solon, who traveled to Egypt where he communicated with local priests who possessed ancient secrets.
