RE: Steemit Newbies: Ask Me Anything (About Steemit) In The Next Hour, OPERATION HELP NOOBS

in #ama7 years ago

Thanks @stellabelle! This is a cool thing to do! :)
I'm a month and a half old. 2 questions:
1st burning one: How can I promote my posts so more people see it? I think my content is good, but I don't see many eyeballs there. I'm not using @randowhale or @booster. I want a real audience who can interact with me.
2nd important one: I used the #yunk tag in my last post. A writing contest with its proceeds going for a noble cause. And it felt good yunking! :)
However, after I posted, I felt unsure about the categories of content for which we can yunk. Stories? Any kind? Photos? Research?

Sort:
  1. Do you have existing social media friends? When I came into Steemit, I spent a lot of time recruiting my Facebook friends to join Steemit. That's one reason why I had people following me in here. They followed me from Facebook into Steemit.
Steemit is more group and social oriented than people realize. It's necessary to branch out and make friends who are similar to you. Friendships actually create more stable followers.

  2. About the #yunk tag, you will have to ask the members of the #yunk channel in Steemit Chat. Yunk has more to do with an ego-less kind of existing, and is more about not judging others......if you understand the concepts of Taoism, you'll understand yunk.

My best advice: knowing your true self, having goals that you want to accomplish by working together with others will get you far. Steemit still has lots of problems. Instead of focusing on people seeing your blog, I think shifting to solving problems that lots of people have in here can get your farther.

  1. I do on FB. But, I go there rarely now. Thanks for the suggestion. You are absolutely right! Friendships only will endure.
  2. Appreciate the explanation. I like the concept of Yunk. I'll read up on Taoism too. :)

Love your best advice! Thanks for taking the time to help. Probably the best I got over here. Will definitely keep it in mind every time I log on to Steemit. Thanks @stellabelle! Thanks so much! <3
