That's right.
Tyrants, or government (government is synonymous with tyranny), love it whenever some kid shoots up a school or when a bomb goes off in a shopping mall. War, terrorism, and violent conflict -- especially violent conflict that is is carried out by the common people or some alleged foreign 'enemy' -- gives the tyrant an excuse to extend his grip on power and strip the people of their freedoms.
With each act of violence from the common people or some foreign enemy, the tyrant inches closer and closer to his ultimate goal: absolute control and dominion over everyone and everything.
The tyrant capitalises on the fear-porn of the mainstream media to seduce the citizens into surrendering their freedoms - all in the hopes of them being 'saved' from the bad guys by big daddy government (forgetting, of course, that the government is the biggest mass murderer in human history and the biggest threat to our safety).
This is a hard pill to swallow for the everyday man or woman because they see mass shootings, and other acts of senseless violence, as the tragedies they really are. But one must understand that those in power are not 'everyday' people. They are psychopaths. Where the average man sees a national tragedy, the tyrant sees opportunity. A school shooting, for example, or a terror attack in the city center provides the perfect opportunity for the tyrant, or government, to present itself as the saviour.
"We can stop this violence from occurring in the future if you surrender your firearms. Think of the children".
"We can prevent terrorist attacks in the future, but only if you give us access to your private conversations and full internet history. We must never allow something like this to happen again".
Whether it be suicide bombings, mass shootings, or racial divide, the government ALWAYS benefits. In times of fear and uncertainty, the government comes swooping in as the self-proclaimed saviour and the people willingly surrender their freedoms in the hopes of being saved. But as Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
The tyrant needs enemies to maintain and extend his power, and that is why we find ourselves in a perpetual state of warfare and mass fear. It almost seems like, these days at least, everyone is just waiting for the next mass shooting or suicide bombing, only to have the government offer the ultimate solution or remedy, which always involves the further erosion of individual freedoms.
Here in the UK, people are actually proud of their subjugation. People are proud of the fact that only government, those noble and virtuous representatives in the houses of parliament, have access to all of the guns. In the UK you can be arrested for not paying for a TV license. For refusing to fund an institution that employed and protected the world's most notorious paedophile and child abuser.
The masses have little to no respect for their individual freedom or sovereignty, and will, in fact, even cheer and celebrate when the government steps in to centralise even more power into the hands of the few at the expense of the many. But the only way governments can do this is through fear and psychological manipulation. And it is up to us, as a species, to finally mature into adulthood and fully embrace our freedom and declare our sovereignty. Free will is our greatest gift from Cosmic Intelligence, and government only serves to deny our freedom and strangle our human potential.
In these times of fear, uncertainty and universal deceit, with the ruling class inching us closer to a global conflict and third world war, we must develop the courage to stand up for ourselves and say no to the tyrants. To set 'brushfires of freedom' in the hearts and minds of men, as Samuel Adams one said. We must, together, develop the courage to embrace the unknown and march into freedom with a lion's raw, for there is no courage without fear.
Hey buddy, great article and your heart is in the right place.
since we've seen year by year the escalation of tyranny, cheered on by the masses, as you say, I think to take it to a deeper level:
What helped me understand it at a much deeper (causal level) is Natural Law, in particular explained by Mark Passio in his Natural Law Youtube presentation. He presented at Anarchapulco this year and was the best (most powerful) speaker I thought.
I think we're on the same wave length @michaelmcawesome - Mark Passio has been one of my greatest inspirations over the past five years. I have watched all of his presentations and have all his WOEIH podcasts on USB. I have cited him in some of my past steemit posts on veganism and anarchy.
As a wise man once said: 'GET AS OFFENDED AS YOU LIKE!' ;-)
That's awesome man. We're gonna be friends! Just seeing this post now.
Yeah, he's great and I'm giving a presentation on his work this weekend. Really looking forward to it.
Keep speaking the truth man, we're doing The Great Work and having an effect. Let's hope it's enough!
Awesome! Is your presentation going to be recorded? If it is, be sure to post it on DTube.
Thank you! I will ask the hosts to record it and then share it with you.
Tagged you in my latest post buddy. No recording but I learned some things. I'll record one of the upcoming 2 and send to you. Thanks for your support!
thanks for sharing! Never heard of Mark Passio, will check him out
His natural law seminar is a gamechanger.
Great name: unschoolingme. I really think you'll like him if you're already on that wavelength. What I just found interesting was the occult (hidden, not dark) symbolic mockery of graduates I learned about in the podcast I listened to yesterday:
-Graduates, after going thru the indoctrination system, don a black robe (darkness & ignorance) and place a black square on their crown, their brain, and the connection to spirit talked about in yoga, and other old mystery traditions.
Squares are associated with BASE CONSCIOUSNESS, meaning no enlighenment. what the school masters are saying is "You idiots don't know anything, and we'll put this negative symbol right in front of you, and you'll put it on, never knowing what it means because we own your mind."
Horrible. Also, the Chinese character for earth is...田, 4 squares inside a square. My goodness.
One last thing. He speaks slowwwwwwwly. You can speed up the video to 2x and understand everything. Same with the podcasts on VLC player. It's how I listen and watch.
All the best to you!
Thanks! Yes, I've already listened to a couple of episodes of his podcast since my last comment. Has he stopped podcasting though? I can't find any recent episodes. And yes, I always listen to my podcast at 1.5 or twice the speed. Not enough time otherwise! Can you suggest any others I should check out? I'm a big fan of the Richie Allen show and the Corbett Report.
Other than Passio, the name Max Igan popped into my head. Not sure how relevant it will be to you though
This hit me on a pretty deep level.. Great article by the way! Though I wanted to say this helped me realize something.. I think it goes a little deeper than people don't respect sovereignty.. I think they don't respect it because they don't understand it. For the most part. There may be some predators who understand it and capitalize off of that understanding.. But.. The more I think about it.. I think most people do care.. They just don't even know what freedom is, they never studied it, and you would think you wouldn't need to and people should just sort of inherently know it.. But.. Many don't.. I think a lot of people care but just never really studied the subject very deep.. And that makes me realize I need to help educate even more since I do have a pretty good grasp of it..
And here I am trying to quit Facebook.. When.. I should probably be there like you are trying to bring more reason to these people..sigh..
I give you a lot of props for being so patient with them. A lot of these people drive me crazy. But.. They are some of the ones who needed to be reached the most.. So.. Gonna have to think on this for a while.. Thanks for another great article!
Thanks @apolymask
While it is true that many simply don't understand or have an idea of what freedom is, there are also many who don't want the personal responsibility that comes with it.
It's easy to hand over your responsibility to government or some 'authority' figure and let them do all the thinking for you. Then, when things go wrong, they have a scapegoat to blame rather than looking in the mirror and assessing their own actions. Most people want security, not freedom.
Trust me, I have little patience on FB too, lol.
I think perhaps that is something we all must battle with on some level, but I think if you truly understand sovereignty you want to take the responsibility, otherwise you probably don't truly understand it. WHen you get it at a deep level, I think you want to be as free and independent and self sustainable as reasonably possible. But.. I guess I could be wrong, I've been known to put more faith in the human spirit than I should have before! Heh.
But yeah I agree.. A lot of people don't want to take responsibility, I think that's more because they've been conditioned in the wrong ways and have looked at life through the lens of those who want them to be that way.
It is important to distinguish between "government on paper" and "government in fact". The former is not necessarily tyranny. In California, for example, the State Constitution, which is subordinate only to the Federal Constitution, provides that State sovereignty resides with "the People". Organic law here (on paper) provides that the State is subordinate to "the People", and this provision is given teeth with other provisions that establish procedures for bringing actions in Court to assert those rights.
When you have a good government on paper but a bad government in fact, the fault lies not with government, but with you.
It is so good to know i am not alone, and that surrender to tyranny is not inevitable. It feels so universal sometimes- mass propaganda gas been doing its job well for a long time. I appreciate your voice bringing sanity!
Thanks @wildlocusthoney. One of the benefits of steem is that it allows us to connect with like-minded people. There's more of us than we know.
I'm from the UK. I refuse to live there.
The subservience is suffocating.
Tell me about it @lucylin Hopefully steem moons and I'll be able to move country.
Steemit's version of terrorism is spam, bad-content - the bullies and tyrrants over here get permission to do as they please using those sticks.
