Well, @lynncoyle1:
While everyone else seems to be happy for you or the kitten, I'm thinking—the animal shelter has begun.
I wish you all very well. You're now one step closer to becoming the crazy cat woman you've always wanted to be.
😬

hahaha Glen, you've seen through the facade! All I need now is about 48 more rescues, a pink housecoat and rollers in my hair :)
Yeah. I was actually rooting for it to be a baby baby, as in human, as tragic and unsettling as that might have been, just to throw the animal shelter deal down the road a little bit. Oh, well. :) It's better this way. You might as well get it started now. No time like the present.
ack! a baby baby!! That would be more than unsettling I think haha, but I hear you loud and clear. Our downstairs neighbor has been feeding a stray out the window, and the stray has quietly and slowly over several days, made a home in his apartment.
Yep, it's a shelter here :)
Hey, @lynncoyle1.
Well, I am teasing to some degree. I'm sure if it continues, though, as in more strays wind up in your care, then you will definitely know you're on your way. At this point, there's still time to forego it. :)
I think it's very kind of you both to do this, though. My wife is allergic to most animals, so I'm not sure what we would have done. Maybe told someone else or taken it to a shelter? I just don't see us keeping it for any length of time.
We didn't have any pets when I was growing up. My Dad didn't want them. When I left the house, suddenly my sister had a couple of cats. Still don't know how that happened. :)
In all honesty, I picked her up with the intention of taking her to a shelter, and there's one that advertises all the time here as a "Rescue Cat Shelter", but classic Mexico, when we went there, the lady told us they no longer take cats! I really was left with no choice. Upon further research, I've realized that there isn't one cat shelter in Playa. Uh-oh! Now what?
We have a new kitten I guess.
That's funny about your sister. Dad's are always easier on daughters :)
yeah. It's not like I wanted any animals growing up. I was fine with the no pet rule. At the same time, I don't begrudge it either. I wasn't at home anymore, so it wasn't going to be in my way or bother me in the slightest. And really, I do prefer cats over dogs. They're independence can mean they also can take better care of themselves.
We've lived in rural areas most of my life, which means fields, which means, as you will know, that among other things, there can be mice. So, cats go out and mice, although, they will also bird and otherwise critter whatever they can get their paws on, and then present them to you at your feet like the highly sought for treasure that they are. :)
I really think you know what you've gotten yourself into, and now, you know that Playa could really use a shelter for cats. Now, if there was some money in it, things would be perfectly aligned. You'd just need a catchy name, like, El Gato Gringo or something. Hmmmm. That seems to be all I got. :)
Oh I fully understand how cats 'return' with their gifts; even dogs do it too. Our landlord's dog brought a baby bat for all of us to marvel over the other night ;)
Maybe El Gatito Gringo ... sounds a bit cuter? :)
