Forest Clearing Full Of Suprises

in #animalsunday6 years ago (edited)

A forest full of surprises, small clearing, some patience enticed plenty to enjoy.

Taking time to sit quietly and enjoy what nature has on offer, too often when traveling one jumps from one place to the next, never stopping long enough to enjoy what is right in front of you, patience is called for.

On this particular day I decided to remain behind, (just did not feel like lugging up a hill, needed quiet time), a slight movement caught the corner of my eye. Slowly a shy Red duiker popped right out from behind the thick bush, silently moving across while I sat dead still watching her graze, she was about twenty meters away not perturbed by my company.

Animal - Red duiker is an extremely shy little buck of Africa. Average height about 42 cm with a weight on average of about 11 kg, male and female have short little horn.

Animal - Red duiker

Relaxing on an old tree stump more movement from the forest was apparent, I have more visitors appearing quietly into the clearing. Amazing how animals can sense danger, each armed with strong sense of smell and hearing.

Animals Red duiker and Vervet Monkey

Eating together sharing each others company, any movement they will all scatter, really hope those who had taken off walking to the view point come back quietly, humans don't know how to be quiet unfortunately

Animals - Red duiker, Mongoose, Vervet Monkey

All three animals species will flee at the sound of a twig breaking, the monkeys will alert everyone in the clearing should any danger come lurking, having their troop scattered in among the trees, look out's perched higher keeping a watchful eye with young around.

For now it is almost as good as it gets, reminding me of when you go down to the woods today, you may be in for a big surprise it is only in the art of learning silence, do we find rare opportunities of watching animals enjoy browsing in harmony together.

Animal Photography

Enthralled with this lovely party of animals, quite smug I had not gone clambering up the hill I heard the human voices start decending from the trail walk, chatting loudly I knew they would miss this wonderful party of three different animals together, the little forest clearing would soon be cleared of animals they will take flight/fright of humans.

Thank you @kcherukuri appreciate your visit.

Cute pics!

Great pictures. It's incredible what can be seen in nature when we just sit and be still.

Thanks for sharing nature with us.
They are bless to be free in the woods.

Just as well you decided to stay behind. Some really endearing shots here. Beautiful and peaceful @joanstewart.

Thrilled I stayed behind, one minute on my own the next surrounded by company.

Coexisting needs to be learned by all

When I'm out in the mountains I'm almost always doing something, going somewhere, climbing some mountain, exploring a creek for fishing, etc.. I occasionally do get some quiet times where I just sit quietly and enjoy the nature, but my mom is always telling me I should slow down and just enjoy being out there without having to always do this or that adventure. So reading your post just had me thinking "yup, mom is right, I really do need to try to slow down a bit when I'm out". I'm sure getting to watch all these animals was such an awesome experience!! And you really got some great photos of them.

Next time you are out, listen to what your Mom told you, my Mom always had a saying "sit quietly and feast your eyes", I too do not normally stay behind to take some time, am glad to start learning you don't have to go looking for nature always.

The animals are great and just doing their own thing

Very happy together @ianstevenson

You knew I was going to like this Lady Joan, as it is also the trade that I practice. But most times I do it alone, whilst Marian sits feeding somewhere, as there is nothing that disturbs the magical and sacred silence more than approaching human voices! Wonderful shots and glad you could join in the communion! Blessings! @joanstewart

When out my husband and I walk very quietly in the hope of bird photography, on this day it was a larger party of people had stopped off, I find needless chatter irritating, so stayed behind, very glad I did it was a rewarding experience.

Great photography Joan ! Visiting from Kryptonia today

Thanks for visiting always appreciated.

Wow, that must have been extraordinary experience. I know this species from ZOOs only.
Found your task on Kryptonia.

Sadly some people will only ever see wildlife in a captured state.

Nice photography, amazing wild life.

You were so lucky finding those animals, everytime i go to the woods they're like cursed and no one or anything is there :(

Did you sit for long enough to see a bird up in a tree? Teaching oneself to be quiet, and one with the surroundings is when little animals appear.

cool post

What luck: to observe in nature several such interesting animals at once!

Right place, at the right time @eto-ka always in the moment.

Great article...oh there is so little time to just sit and enjoy nature, it feels like ages ago that I had such an opportunity! I hope I get to experience this type of peace soon!

We always rushing around never making time to be still, it has become a style of living today. I hope you do get out into nature and find that inner peace of being one in nature @esli.kloppers

Thank you Joan!! I seriously need it, especially after this week with the kiddies being sick and all 😅

@joanstewart, what beautiful animals, how great to see them in the wild!!!
do you have thw wallet of byteball?

I did feel lucky on the day, that is why I am sharing this little moment in time @vipnata

thanks, @joanstewart, good luck! have a good day!

lucky for you to capture pictures of those animals.

I really love nature too and spend time in the wilderness.

Enjoy every minute and learn from nature, it has a lot of lessons to teach.

I love the pictures. I love it even better because the animals featured live harmoniously together. So nice to look at!rubelynmacion of kryptonia

They are free and happy, in this instance sharing @rubelynmacion

they are beautiful! I can't imagine how you took them all carefully to make them not scatter lol! Got you from kryptonia @wilsonblue5

Blending in with nature by sitting quietly I was lucky they did not run off @wilsonblue5

Lovely photos

Some really amazing photos Joan

I am from kryptoniya Id prokaysar

Gremlin's had a field day down internet the lines..... Appreciate the honesty I have found with people on @kryptonia

Amazing photography
So nice to get so close up.

Totally amazed at the animals @socialmediaseo

@joanstewart You have duplicate tasks on Kryptonia, I sent back 77 coins to you, you need to go and archive them before others complete them and get paid 4x for the same task ;)

Thanks for letting me know, unfortunately my bad internet connection I have only got to start looking at this today with a note from @sydesjokes as well I was totally unaware this happened, thank you for your noticing and honesty it is greatly appreciated.

What a blessing! Goes to show that sometimes you need to just relax and take it all in. I am just a tad jealous at your animal encounter :)

Every South African should try get up there @sweetpea it really is a hidden gem.

Those pictures are really nice. I agreevthat while travelling it is nice to stop at a place and enjoy it as long as we want rather than jumping around. However, I wouldnt go into the wildereness as Im not a fan of it hahaha

Rather be in the wild and bushes than in a city any day of my life @fleurinna more scared of cities.

Wow @joanstewart it is really an awesome wildlife post. The animals always found humans as a threat as we destroy their habitat and life otherwise it would be an awesome world too.
@kryptonia

They are still scared, this area is protected @dhaneshpk although many animals are still poached, even in protected areas.

please let me know how you enjoy getting out into the wilderness.

Save and go @swewew10 for my own sanity!

That is really the harmony of the nature. Sad that most of humans don't share that ability. At least nowadays.

Beautiful pictures!

Nature is where I always turn to find an inner peace of mind. Thanks for visiting and comment.

Fantastic photos Joan! Your patience certainly paid off. You are lucky to be in a place were you can view such a variety of interesting animals.

Lady Luck was on my side this day @rwedegis a very special memory. Thanks for visiting and kind words Reg.

love it, amazing!

the wild life is amazing!

Thanks for visiting @armandofd

How amazing was this experience?!? It is fascinating what will show itself if we have the discipline to be still.

Seeking out quiet is so good, it is like swimming, getting rid of the noise in our heads, opening yourself up to what is around us. Always a good reminder as to how small and insignificant we are in nature!

Great experience shared in a special way. I wanted to shush my kids talking as I read about your experience, it felt so real. Thank you @joanstewart

@reonlouw you really have to bring your children to let them experience this wonderful place.

May/June I have found not to be too hot, but if you enjoy the heat and humidity December would also do.

So peaceful! Good work capturing wildlife.
