An Alien Abduction Story in Pen and Ink Sketches

in #art6 years ago

A series of sketches I drew for a dear friend. The story outlines a boy who is abducted by an alien, and who subsequently transcends the physical self and the ego to become a Star Child. These sketches will form the basis of a series of larger paintings at some point.

As a child, I dreamed of one day traveling to the stars. I'd stare at the night sky, my mind reeling with the notion of a universe teeming with life. If only it weren't so vast, perhaps we could connect. As I get older, I realize that we do connect. We connect by being aware of ourselves, and of the people around us. That is to say, our mind is the most powerful thing we share, and it is part of a greater, universal whole.

There's a lot more to the stories of alien abduction than what the mainstream media tells us. The phenomenon may go beyond the physical to the very fabric of consciousness itself. Fairies, elves, grey aliens, owls, all of these things border on the edges of the mind, and are all part of the same phenomenon.

When I was eight, I was asleep one night and woke up spontaneously with the feeling like something was outside my door. I got up and peeked out my doorway down the hallway and saw a large green glowing oval, like an aura. I thought "huh that's weird" and went straight to bed.
Next morning my brother, 4 years older, was eating cereal with me and I mentioned what happened. He said the same EXACT thing happened to him a few minutes after my event occurred (we saw the time when we woke up). He even had the same "huh that's weird" response as me.
Real story.

Thanks for sharing! That IS weird. I find these phenomena fascinating. Ghosts, aliens, UFOs. I think they are all related in some way. Whether they occur 'in the mind' or 'in reality', they still happen. The mind is powerful, and has the power to affect the 'physical' world.

The mind is definitely a powerful things, and so are your drawings. Good job.😃

I am awestruck by your work, speechless. I really love the spaceship in the first one. Then how the boy is scared and in bed.

The fourth shot took my breath, where the boy is in air with alien also enjoying.

WOW

Thanks! I'm glad you like the pictures! And thank you for choosing to feature me in the Curie Author Showcase. That is wonderful!

For the brief statement:

A good friend of mine turned me on to the world of UFOs, alternate realities, and expanded consciousness a few years ago. There's so much more to the world than what we can see, hear, and touch. Some people speculate that the UFO phenomenon isn't really about spacecraft, but rather , the expansion of the mind itself into other dimensions. I find that fascinating.

The story in pictures isn't just about an abduction. It starts off with naive innocence, but then takes a darker turn. But the darkness isn't evil. It's the boy, confronting the darkness within himself. One of the aliens opens up his mouth, to reveal a universe within. The boy falls into that universe, letting go of his own ego, symbolized by the sword and the severed head (think Kali, the Hindu god). The boy thus becomes at one with the greater whole.

I drew this for my dear friend, who introduced me to these ideas. My dear friend has been sick for a couple of years now. I gave these drawings to him to show him how important he is to me.

That's it! Thank you!

Really creepy, as it develops.
From the "I want to believe" excitement and light to the rather dark mind-programming and its seemingly violent consequences.
It would be fascinating to see your whole concept developed.

In the town where I grew up there were stories (told as facts, with witnesses and all) about children kidnapped by duendes (showdow-like small creatures, allegedly children's ghosts). Kids who had experienced this were said to grow up as weird adults.

Thanks so much @hlezama for your comment. Yes, I did intend it to have a creepy tone near the end. But it's more the creepiness of confronting the darkness within yourself, and going beyond that to find oneness with everything. The aliens force the boy to confront that darkness.

I'm going to have to learn more about duendos. Ghosts to me aren't necessarily traditional ghosts. I see these things more as energy reflecting from the universe around us. Such strange things, shown to us by quantum physics and the like. Anything is possible!

It's interesting that looking online it says duendos can actually be good or evil. They certainly seem to be mischievous either way!

Weird adults hehe, I've known many weird adults. We're all weird to somebody though, aren't we?

Thanks so much.

It is amazing what you have been able to do in grayscale ... since you told me you are a guitarist and composer, my mind is trying to hear what you would do for music on this...

Thanks! It's strange, because I find it difficult to imagine music which would be appropriate for my artwork. Perhaps I'm too close to it? I wish you well!

Your drawings are strange but they have a special touch that attracts my eyes, I do not know how to explain it but what a peculiar and at the same time incredible art!

Wow I feel I get lost in your art. Amazing work! I found your wonderful art thanks to @curie

Thank you so much!

Great work, a great short story in pictures ... the details, the atmosphere, and the overall drawing style is very expressive. I like it very much.
