Anyone ... ?

in #art7 years ago (edited)

I recently acquired a lamp that I am trying to research value of. After spending literal hours using keyword searches and coming up close, but not close enough, I finally figured out how to do an image search (proud moment right there, let me tell ya). So - I took a picture, downloaded onto my computer and the dropped it into the handy dandy "drop image here" box and in precisely .072 seconds later ... I knew I had a light fixture. 🙄

Anyone else who wants to take a crack at it, the image will be in the comment section directly. Tell me something I don't already know, and win ... my ultimate respect (For the rest of the day. Conditionally.)

I should add - I'm not looking for an appraisal, simply possible age and/or maker.

Sort:

it looks like a builder, also i can see in the sign at the bottom it writes le macon that means bricklayer from French to English, cool and aesthetic btw, happy to see this post :)

Wow, you must have much better eyesight than I do because I couldn't read that little placard, I'm actually impressed that I knew there was a placard with something written on it. :D LOL. :D

Its very cool to know what it says though...because, I thought what must be bricks, was a xylophone. :D

The tag on the base says "le macon" but I can't find a maker's mark anywhere.

That's a bit odd, usually there is something on the bottom, a stamp maybe or a signature of some sort that indicates where or who it was manufactured by... Maybe its super small and you need a magnifying glass to see it or maybe is up where the light bulbs are? I wish I could be more helpful for you.

The only thing I know about this light fixture is that it will be a pain in the hiney to clean. :D

It is very unique and neat looking though. :D

Thanks for sharing. :D

I'm sure there is a secret message inside. Have you tried hitting it with a hammer?
