Thank you! Yes, I'm on steemartists as well! Actually, you can also do it using graphite pencils. There are light and dark types of graphite pencil (darkest looks like charcoal lol). You can try them out, too!

I collected 6B up to 6H pencils and still only use 4 pencils from those ranges. You're better at gauging values and contrast. I transitioned too early without the fundamentals and now I'm still stuck learning them in the digital landscape. What's your discord name? I hold the same name there.
hiddenblade is also my username in discord :D It's never too late, though. Just like me, I went to art school, went through techniques and stuff but I wasn't able to do it on full force. I learned a lot, but I think if I have enough time (studying art without those minor subjects that I don't care about haha) then I believe I would be able to practice more. Right now since I just graduated, I am going back to basics even if I already know how to do paintings and stuff. Basics are really important and you will have a hard time achieving your goal in drawing/painting if you transitioned too early. Take it slow and someday you'll be able to achieve it.
