Doodling…
Do a big scribble and then make a picture out of it. Do this a lot - it is a form of daydreaming or contemplative prayer - and it is very good brain activity because it is a balance of right and left brain hemispheres. I got it from the surrealists - they called it automatic drawing - but they would never have made it realistic - and for them it came from their unconscious - but I studied Andre Masson at that time...
I receive a lot of really great information this way AND over the years - I have developed a way to "scry" my drawings for other people.

I first started this kind of drawing in 2011 http://joannawhitney.weebly.com/august-11.html
but I began painting from my intuition in 1989 with Aviva Gold.
The one you see here was started for a client, this morning - but I don't think I can photograph it successfully in stages because I really did not like the drawing and ended up scrapping it and starting over.
I ended up with this one - which has the same message but is a nicer drawing because I did not keep switching back to left brain mode to take photos.
Here is the final, hand-colored drawing I sent off to my client, folded into this origami envelope... The reading was done by simply describing what I see in the picture using green language and symbolism and information I was given while I was drawing it.
You can easily learn this without classes by just beginning. I always have tremendous self-doubt at the beginning of the drawing and reading, but I emailed it to the client and as always - I was told that it was divinely inspired and exactly what she had hoped for, as a gift for her mother's birthday. I popped it in the mail.
If i have a long holiday disconnected from daily chores and jobs to focus on writing fictional stories or just thinking about stories, after sometime i would have lucid dream - dream where you are actually consciousness. But long holiday is hard to come by now days, so that part of the brain is barely connected now.
yea @ahhzen - that is why I offer a very simple way to reconnect...

i LOVE this painting - can't make it larger to look at it though - or is it a drawing? fantastic!
Awesome idea! I have to try this. Surrealism is probably my favorite genre of art.
@rigaronib well - the technique is derived from a surrealist idea - but it is not surrealism - it is more like synchromysticism or scrying the lines - if you want to know what is going on in your life - you can make your own tarot reading this way and find out - if you are confused or do not know what to do. There are more things you can do as well... the surrealists were strict about their rules regarding what was a true unconscious drawing - I break the rules with this all the time. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surrealist_techniques
