Hi there, I'm Katie. I'm a gallery owner, visual artist, and writer.
I'm making the Wet Stuff Podcast. Wet Stuff: The Art of Painting a Business is a podcast for creative minds that want to learn more about the business side of pursuing a creative endeavor. This podcast is my way of sharing my own journey as an independent visual artist, there's always something new to learn and Albuquerque is filled with brilliant creatives ready to share their knowledge. In the Wet Stuff Podcast, I interview fellow visual artists, gallery owners, entrepreneurs and other creatives on their business practices and how they apply their own creative thinking to generating revenue doing what they love. It's now available on iTunes and early access to the podcast is available on Patreon.
I also write the Creative Encounters Blog. In Creative Encounters, I share conversations I have with some of the Creative artists and thinkers I get to meet every day. Albuquerque is bursting with artists and I'm always coming across a new person to talk with about their life. I love writing about these conversations and sharing their work with others who may enjoy what they do and how they think. Give it a gander and let me know what you think about the articles. Which ones are your favorites?
My Art Gallery and Event Center is located in the heart of downtown Albuquerque, just down the street from the Albuquerque Convention Center. In this space, I host events and art exhibitions to inspire and support myself and fellow creatives. My primary goal is to host fund raisers and bring together art exhibitions with acts of change that can have a positive impact on our community. I hope you get a chance to visit. It's located at 104 4th St NW, Albuquerque NM 87102. I'm open Tuesday - Saturday from 1pm-5pm (at least). If you knock on the windows and I'm in the studio working I'll let you in to see the show, I love visitors.
And, of course, I make visual art :)
You can collect my works of art right from my website at www.NeeleyArts.com.
Thanks for reading!
I'm new to Steemit and looking to connect with fellow entrepreneurs and creatives.

Welcome to Steemit
Thank you Kalita!
Hi @kdneeley! I am so happy to see you here! It can get pretty overwhelming at first with all the new lingo, but in no time you'll get the hang of it. The main thing to remember is that as a creator all you have to do here is create. Your creations add value and most of that value finds its way to your wallet.
There are so many more subtleties to steemit, but to begin with that's all you need to do to start getting immediate benefits from the community. Not all the benefits are monetary.
In the month I've been here I've met many great people, who've all contributed in some way to my skill as a writer. In a month, my writing has improved by orders of magnitude.
But even more than that, and this is the most important thing to me, is that I wake up now with more optimism. Left behind are the divisive tactics of other media platforms. The constant program of Fear is absent from my life. There is so much less general stress in my mind. Being around these folks on steemit has done this for me.
I'm glad you're here! I support you through Patreon and I support you here! Welcome to steemit!
Welcome to steemit!
Thanks! Thanks for your help!
You're very welcome!
Interesting blog @kdneeley! Here is a link to a blog I wrote that you might like: click here
I like the story though, it's really well written and it's nice that you can still drink with your friends even though you don't drink alcohol.
Thanks! So, do you really believe the Earth is flat? Or was that a joke? I think I missed the punchline at the end.
Yes, I believe the earth is flat, cause they can not prove curvature even by there own definition of curvature. If you use the earth curve calculator click here you see that a person standing 10 foot tall won't be able to see anything 30 miles away with a height of about 495 feet tall. Now from a distance of 60 miles people look at the Statue of Liberty which stands only 305 feet tall can see it on a clear day. If you are not even supposed to see at a 30 miles away how can they see it a twice that distance? So is there really curvature? Also did NASA really go to the moon? There are people that doubt that it can happen at all. They would have to go through God's firmament which according to the Bible is strong and as a molten looking glass as mentioned in Job 37:18. Of course this is too much information, but I have been looking at it since 2015 or so. One good documentary is called, Under The Dome - Full Documentary click on that name to see the documentary.
Thank you very much for liking the story. If you like my story why not give it an upvote? I like your comment I'll give it an upvote. :)
Thank you, you're very kind. I can't in good conscience upvote content that insists the Earth is flat based on poetic verses. I have too much respect for science. It frightens me that you believe this. I'll check out the documentary. I hope I'm not being offensive but...how do you refute space travel, images from our telescopes, weather technology, satellites in orbit around the Earth, the sun rising and setting and the cycles of the moon, our timezones, the solar system, seasons? I can't imagine the ability to believe such a thing without actively seeking ignorance, and that's what frightens me.
Ok, I understand. Yes, check out the documentary. You will get your questions answered. Don't worry about being offensive. Do let me know what you think of the documentary. Thanks. That is just one. I have seen lots of different documentaries like this one about the flat earth in the last two years.

Very interesting! I saw your fresh account so I'm gonna support you. Hope this upvote helps and maybe upvote some of my stuff too!
I know how hard it is to get big upvotes on a new account so you could give @MinnowPowerUp a go. This service lets you earn up to 30% more steem power than just powering up! It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I have also made this post where I explain my experience with the service in more depth and show how I earn over $1 a day in upvotes.
Hey Katie I think it's wonderful that you are an artist who spends her time helping educate other artists on the business side. The business side is definitely the other side of the brain as to painting.
Here's a link to my blog which has many paintings posted. I'd love to hear your thoughts! My goal this year is to get into the business side of things and start making more of my work available. Thanks!
