I was so disappointed with my first dragon that I almost gave up drawing for the day. I'm glad I decided to try again and do do it differently. I spent 3 hours on the first dragon, but it felt more like a chore than fun because my skills are still rough.
For the second try I decided to start sketching for fun to relax before sleep. Those dragons have much stronger personalities even thought they are still rough.

My daughter is a Dragon Artist as well, her Chinese Zodiac is the Tiger
but her brother and I are DRAGONS. She is a bit jealous and admirable
of that fact! ;)

Aww I definitely understand your daughter, especially when there are 2 dragons. In my family of 6 no one is dragon. I'm a dog, but I like cats. At least tiger is a big cat :D

This took around 2:30h so far. However, a lot of the lines aren't cleaned up yet. And the coloring was just a simple test, so a bit messy.
Hey :) The update is up I spent around 2:30h more on finishing 3 and maybe an hour for prepping the process post and images.

Cute little buggers! How do you do the digital art? With a graphic pen? What program? I have Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator...would this process work in either of those?

I use bamboo fun tablet medium size (it's 5 years old now). It's among more affordable Wacom tablets. Medium is great for detailed art. I used Photoshop for this, but program is less important than the tablet (in my opinion). Also my brother has a tiny Huion, very cheap (pen breaks often) for some games, but not good for drawing.
Also practice circles like explained here, but digitally, so you get used to the pen faster.
