It’s been awhile since I last posted a drawing, so time to put one up.
All my artistic endeavours are some form of healing process for me.
Drawing is a very personal side of me.
I don't show people my drawings. There's only a handful of people that have ever seen my art.
I love to draw portraits of people's faces.
I find human faces so fascinating.
Each face tells an epic story of trials and tribulations.
Each line and curve on a face recounts how many times this person felt pain and pleasure.
I usually choose to not include the neck or the hair. Don't get me wrong, I love hair, but sometimes rather than frame a face, hair can distract from the story in either a good or bad way. Leaving it out always reveals something fascinating about a person. Like stripping them naked of clothing or a mask.
This man and this band have created and inspired so much music.
Radiohead is one of my favourite bands.
But not only that, Thom has an interesting, fascinating and mysterious face.
How could I not draw him?

I’d really love to hear from you.
WOW. an extraordinary drawing dear friend!
congratulations
Thank you so much @artzm! 🙏🏽
You are a well rounded individual sir! I draw too by the way! But I'm not surprised. A lot of good musicians I know are also painters, good at drawing and such. Beautiful work!
Why, thank you @breakoutthecrazy!
Yes, it doesn't surpise me that you are a drawer too, Chris. And you're right, many musicians are creative in other ways too...
:)
YOU DRAW BEAUTIFULLY, TOO?!?! This is stunning. I'm in love with the texture of this piece.
Naaaaw! Thanks so much @lillywilton!
I love creating in many different ways. It's amazing what we can learn to do with the hours of our days if we are inspired, focussed and self-disciplined.
Bless ya!
Mate you have ability plussssss.
I cant draw to save my life, this picture is really good. It's amazing how you are so artistically great in so many different areas.
Well done...
I am learning today how to use discord, so i can move into another technological realm and chat.
Cheers mate!
I find it's important to find a myriad of ways to express yourself and get all that is trapped within, out.
Thanks for sharing love my way @sanddrift!
For Steemit, learning Discord is a must! Drop me a line when you're onboard: nathankaye#3817
I can understand and relate to what you said about art being healing for you, I don't share most of my work with others because its deeply personal for me. I can't draw to save my own life on top of it lol. But, I enjoy it so that's all that matters! Great portrait, really captures the essence of the person you were capturing.

Thanks Ivy.
Yeah, It's so true what you say. It really doesn't matter whether you're good at something or not (skill develops over time), but more that it (whatever you're doing) expresses what's inside for you and gets it out so that nothing stagnates inside of you.
Art, music, acting, dancing, martial arts have all been crucial therapies for me. They are gifts to myself first and foremost.
Bless ya!
Excellent points that you have made! I don't act at all but I have been using art, music, dancing, and martial arts as therapy too. I believe in self care and in making myself a priority but that's a relatively new concept for me so I'm getting used to it. It feels good!

This is fantastic, @nathankaye! You've conveyed so much personality here – the asymmetrical eyes and slightly parted lips. Very well-done.
I also love what you've said about excluding the hair. Having so recently shared the story about how I shaved my head, your reasons for omitting those elements resonate deeply.
Love!
Thanks so much, @zipporah!
Excluding the hair in my artworks was a very clear decision I made when I was in high school. I noticed how much people relied on it as a form of identification. There's nothing wrong with that and I like hair, but as I said in the post I've always felt it can distract from the subtle story that the face conveys. Sometimes I draw the hair, but it's so rare...
It made sense that you resonated with that part. Your post was amazing!
Anyway, thanks for your lovely compliments.
Bless ya
wow I'm a huge Thom Yorke fan, both as a solo artist and also with radiohead and atoms for peace and you managed to capture his unique look perfectly. very impressive x
Thanks so much @trucklife-family!
Yeah, Thom is one amazing musician, that's for sure!
