Someone else who loves spiders! I hear Australia has huge scary spiders and snakes. I'd prolly get bitten exploring your continents awesome flora and fauna! Thank you @pressurepointau

You are welcome @reddust !. spider lovers are a rarer lot! I would love to collect Tarantula at some stage. after spending a lot of time in the far north of our country i came to love most of what is here (i can't abide mosquitoes). Exploring was one of my greatest pleasures when i was younger. some of the spiders and insects i saw , i have never seen again and had not seen them before. Hell of a lot of diversity (there is that word again) up in the tropics.

Almost certainly. i have been bitten a number of times. usually in my sleep. there are indeed some large and aggressive spiders here, However like most spiders they are for the most part more scared of you then you are of them.

I love lizards and frogs as well, I don't understand why people are scared of nature when the human built world is far scarier and meaner...now I want to come and visit!

I couldn't agree more! the thing is being prepared for nature and possible nasty consequences and then remaining calm if something does go wrong, doing the right thing and surviving. panic is the real killer.

It is well worth it. the northeastern coast and even the southern cold rain forests are amazing for "creepy-crawlies".

Snakes and lizards are awesome too, I mean we have the Taipan in all its variations and it can be aggressive and deadly again preparation and awareness is the key.

most of the lizards including the Monitor can be nasty if provoked or frightened..But again if you go calm and don't act like prey its usually pretty good. Being aware of the local environment and social factors is key (ie, is someone feeding them and creating habituation for them to expect food from humans).

hahaha now you are making me want to explore again!

OMG...me too, it's getting close to me taking off as soon as my daughter is ready for me to go...hopefully next year. I've been staying with her, helping out during a difficult custody battle, she has two kids. As soon as everyone is stable, I'm taking my steemit funds and traveling the world!

I have seen friends go through the custody battle experience before. its never fun for anyone. I think when all is said and done Travel will be just the medicine you need. I know after working for the Corporation i have just been working for and being trapped in cities for the last few years that nature is exactly what i am in need of!. Steemit seems like the perfect way to raise those extra funds. i could definitely go to South America again. it was absolutely stunning.

Yes, I need to explore, all the women in my family get the travel bug when they get older. Maybe me and my husband will visit Stemians along the way.
