Well I'm no marketing expert either, but I do believe that people need and want to be "led by the nose" if you're expecting or wanting them to do something i.e it must be very obvious and explicit as to exactly what you want them to do and exactly how they should go about doing it.
I expect most people would arrive at your posts directly from the feed, in which case they'd be unlikely to even see your channel 'where your website is listed'(unless they deliberately looked for it) and even then they'd probably be more interested in looking at your other posts (since they're the most obvious things there).
They may or may not see your URL (which is very small and gives no indication of what they might find there) probably expecting to find the same thing they're already looking at while having no idea that there's all these goodies available there.
I believe most people are reluctant to go to unknown websites unless they believe there's something there that interests them, and because of time constraints, upvoting pressure etc. would likely move on to the next post that interests them.
This is why I think if you put it in their face on every post. What is there and the link right there in front of them. Even if they don't click it on the first of your posts they see, I feel it's almost inevitable that after seeing a few more of your posts they will eventually click on it, even if just out of curiosity.
Hey my friend, again, thanks for your time to put so much thought into this. I think I've secretly given up on the notion that people visit my website because of social media click throughs. I doesn't happen thru facebook nor instagram, they have stats to prove it. And yes you're right, people are reluctant to visit someones site, I guess mainly because of a lack of time. And since my site is primarily an online portfolio I don't update it often, so once you've seen it you don't feel the need to revisit.
I haven't put much thought into seeing as a marketing opportunity for anything outside of Steemit, because of the nature of the platform. Most people are here hoping to make some coin and therefore only care about promoting themselves. But like I said, I will try to solidify my presence here and put some effort into branding myself and I will take your advice into consideration, for sure. I have nothing to lose so why not?
I shall talk to you soon, and I have not forgotten about checking out those speakers, just haven't had the patience for it yet. Best wishes until next time :-)
