The winning comment this week was from @dearjyoce who commented with the following:
My proudest moment is when my son and I were walking on the street on the way to mall and he sees an old man sleeping in the sidewalk. He ask me to buy food for the old man because he thinks if he has no house to sleep in maybe he has no food to eat and must be hungry too. And so we buy him food and he give the coins he got on his pocket. I was touched! I'm very proud of him!

White Fang by Jack London.
A classic tale about a fierce, angry wolf that finds love and redemption in the care of a kind human after being abused by people and toughened by its environment.
It puts you in the animal's perspective.
@nextgen622 Secrets of The Millionaire Mind
by T. Harv Eker
It would change the way people think and could really help one find a better balance to live a better life
I'd rather not spoil the book but if someone wants to have and achieve whatever he or she desires to achieve in all aspects in life - reading and understanding this book is one of the keys
of course there are many other books
but this is my favorite book among all of them - atm :)
and I highly recommend it for everyone to read specially in the time we are living in
Love that book and several others about the North. Grew up there myself so can relate.
Read it in elementary school. Really like it!
"An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations" (1776) by Adam Smith:
There is no such thing as a single book that can be recommended to everyone. People have different tastes and desires.
There are, however, books that everybody should read, liking it, or not.
One of these books is [The Wealth of Nations] by Adam Smith.
As the basis of all economics, this book is important for everyone that wants to live in a world ruled by money.
Read it. Was surprisingly disappointed by how dry it is, but it's still important.
Yup totally agree. Everyone has different interest, and naturally, we gravitate towards the subject that holds our interests the most. Comparing one book to another is like comparing an apple to an orange.
The Wealth of Nation is an extremely interesting read because the single most important invention: money is threatening to dominate humanity. It's not only important to understand the role and origin of money, but it's crucial to learn how to manage it wisely.
The Bible, it is the key to eternal life
This one's easy! The Bible ;]
Read it several times. Definitely would recommend to everyone if you hadn't already.
"The Silmarillion" by the great J. R. R. Tolkien. This book isn't just great, it is like a scripture of Arda (the world where Tolkien's books take place). Comparable to the mythology of our world, it is one complex piece of writing, but if you're a fantasy fan, or even liked the New Line Cinema's adaptations to "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Hobbit", this book is a must read.
I had a first print of this book somewhere. Fold out map and all. Never read it. I was afraid to damage it lol.
Multiple Intelligences: New Horizons
by Howard E. Gardner
This book builds in The Theory of Multiple Intelligences by Prof. Gardner and identifies a number of areas in which people demonstrate intelligence, this includes Musical/Rhythmic Intelligence, Mathematical/Logical Intelligence, Bodily/Kinesthetic Intelligence, Visual/Spatial Intelligence, Verbal Intelligence, Interpersonal Intelligence, Intra-personal Intelligence and Naturalistic Intelligence.
This book helps teens to understand their own strengths broadening the measurement of intelligence from the IQ tests we had. It also helps them understand the strengths of their peers and other people they associate with and see their observations in the context of their intelligences. You can read more here.
Books are similar to perfumes: everyone has a favourite, personal scent that changes something about you.
There are books that can be read always, others that need a different kind of attention and care.
Among the evergreen book of my life there are Italo Calvino's books, a talented, poetic, elegant and meaningfull italian writer. My favorite story is "Palomar", but I love everything he has written.
In a novel called "If on a Winter's Night a Traveler" he writes:

The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger
Why I recommend you read it? Its a coming of age novel about Holden Caulfield who's sarcastic, sensitive nature shows a learning curve for the future.
The book potrays rejection and powerlessness that Holden feels throughout the story. He wants to get close to people yet keeps getting pushed away. Alienated from his friends, kicked out from his school. It comes down to a point when: He pays a prostitute to talk to him, and nothing else. After she leaves he is confronted by the pimp for not paying, and gets beaten up.
It got me through a hard time in life. His metaphorhical symbolism: "Where do the ducks, go when its winter". Still resounds about where will we end up after seasons come and go.
This book resounds across millions of people in the world. And I hope it will for you, too.
That sounds really interesting. Thanks for the recommendation and description about the book.
You are welcome mate! :))
Never read this actually, was banned during my school years. Didn't have the urge to pick it up though now that you've jogged interest...
Hands down 1 of the best books written in the last century!
This was awesome!!! I have and occasionally dabble with the the (please forgive the spelling) ummen and thummun? rocks, for the yes or no life questions :)
Very good read here!!!

"The Law of Success in 16 Lessons" by Napoleon Hill
This is one of the most inspiring books ever written!
Originally printed in 1928 as an 8 volume set (two lessons per volume). Now you can find reprints in one volume.
It will literally change your life for the better just from reading it!
No, this was not a hard choice, it should almost be mandatory reading in schools.
This man spent 20 years studying one thing before putting this manuscript together...
How to achieve your desires.
How to be, do or have anything and everything that you want in life.
He studied directly with 500 of the worlds most influential people for two decades.
He also studied and tested over 15,000 regular people during this time.
He scientifically and mathematically lays out how to be successful, happy or whatever else you could want from life.
There has never been a more complete, well put together and easy to understand manuscript on this type of knowledge available to the people, ever.
Can't argue with this one. One of the successors to "Think And Grow Rich", laying down finite methods from the Masters of his era.
Absolutely man. Think and Grow Rich is my next read. I thought I ordered in on Amazon years ago only to find out I ordered the "Think and Grow Rich a Black Choice.". Inspired by Hill's book but quite different indeed. Read it, liked it and gave it to a black friend. Now I finally own the real one and will be reading it soon. :)
Definitely one of the most inspiring authors of the 20th century. Brilliant fellow.
Absolutely. I'm working on reading everything I can acquire of his. I'd really like a first print of this set. I've seen them for around $5000
The Wind -up Bird Chronicle, hands down.
"The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey".
I think many Steemians will benefit from reading this book. Delevoping personal effectiveness helps a lot :)
I have to chime in here because it shocks me nobody has listed it. The Hitchiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams.
The humorous metaphorical wisdom contained within those pages surpasses perhaps even Aesop. "Don't Panic!"
Yes!! Slaughtybatfast (I know that is not spelled correctly. The guy who designed the coast of Norway.) would be proud!
LOL YES!!!
so you are a true follower lol. Anyway, not to bum you out but I only saw the old tv series from like the 70's, but the entire series. The movie sucked lol. Didn't read the book or hear the radio series which I guess is where it all started.
I saw some of the show, I didn't read it until about 15 years ago when a good friend of mine said you have to read this.
Yea, a buddy of mine had them all recorded. They're pretty cool.

Exactly! The answer to life, the universe and everything!
I would also be amiss if I didn't at least give an honorable mention to The Art of War by Sun Tzu. Even today, centuries later, his words ring loudly in the thoughts of many a great businessman/woman and leaders.
Can't wait to read this book! Great choice!
Oh man...you are in for a treat with this one if you haven't read it...wow.
Definitely on the top of my list of to reads! I have been meaning to buy it for several years now. Guess it's time to act.
This book taught me a lot about the energy in my body and how to better control it
How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie
It is a good book to read if you want to learn how to communicate effectively with other people
Read it twice. Never forget the 3 C's.
I almost went with this book great choice! I've read it now 3 times plus read the pocket version. Definitely something to have in the arsenal!

It takes the rider to a journey which was thought so ahead of its time .
Great pick!
If you're interested in dreams and dreaming I'd highly recommend you to read
The tibetan yogas of dream and sleep by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
ancient knowledge put in a really interesting and beautiful way to understand
dream is destiny!

A Brief History of Time by Hawking. It uses plain English to help the readers without physics background to understand our Universe.
Another exceptional text.
THE SECRET by Rhonda Byrne
The Secret is a self-help book about the power of positive thinking . The “law of attraction” – the principle that “like attracts like.” Specifically, this book focuses on the idea that your dreams do come true – thinking about money and wealth will attract these very things, causing them to manifest in your life. Thoughts become things. Hence the importance of positive thinking. There are no accidents and bad luck. Everything happening to you is a result of the thoughts in your head. This book help alot of people and I'm one of them. So if there's a book I will recommend, its The Secret!
The Only book we humans needs for survival.
really cool topic, show us more answer about it :)
Rich dad poor dad by robert kiyosaki
I like this book a lot because it teaches me that if I dont work hard enough to generate passive income, my whole life will be spent on the 9-6 job and hence missing out of the best parts in life.
Such as previous time spent with family, friends, pursuing my dream and passion.
Now trying hard to escape the rat race too
Hi @nextgen622
