I think you've made a great choice coming to Steemit. Is the perfect?? Nope.
The people here have a different mindset. Most seem to really want to build connections and interact. Of course there are crap spammers, not much we can do about them, except ignore them and keep working on good quality content and promoting that. Eventually the good should outweigh the bad. (At least we hope).
I don't even you having little ones. It's kind of nice when they're grown up and doing their thing. I really love the change in the dynamics of our relationships. I do have wonderful memories though.

I’ve heard that with parenthood, the challenges constantly change and evolve as they grow up. I’m still in the middle of diapers and potty training, but I look forward to seeing how our relationship evolves as my little ones grow!
