Impressive balance skills mate, do you think the balance work will correct your ankles, or is the surgery needed (asking for a friend)

Getting better - practice and stubbornness seems to be doing the trick!
I'm 45 now and I think they are long set in their ways! But I do think that the supporting muscles have gotten stronger - they must have!
One leg at a time on the circular board (once you've got the hang of balancing, which took about a week for me) feel like its really working those ankles, but it has gotten easier.
Did you go straight to the one leg stuff or is there something easier to start off with
I would say it is as 'easy' to balance on one leg as two once you get to grips with it. One leg at a time tires that leg quicker and feels like a proper workout if you can get to squats too!
