Steem Basic Income
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
Delegations

Upvote @steembasicinome regularly to increase the basic income that you receive
Vote weight will be adjusted upward for members that upvote @steembasicincome. Currently members are receiving 80 shares worth of 'bonus' vote weight by upvoting regularly!

Paused Members
Since some members are quite prolific, their voting weight for each post has dropped below 0.50%. We will start listing these members as 'paused' members in each membership update. They still have their shares, but they are not currently receiving any votes.
When their vote weight increases (through less frequent posting, more shares, or by bonus vote weight from upvoting @steembasicincome) they will start receiving upvotes again.

Inactive Members
Steem Basic Income is delivered through upvotes on posts. The weekly upvote weight (currently 10.72% per share) is divided across the total posts each week. If members are not posting, we are unable to deliver their upvotes. We will start identifying members that have not posted in the last week as inactive members. If you know these members personally, please invite them to come back and start posting again!
Excessive Shares
The maximum vote weight that any member can receive on each post is 99% (the maximum allowed by the blockchain is 100%, but we adjust all weights down by 1% to ensure that @steembasicincome can keep voting power above 90-95%). @josephsavage and @sneakyninja would both have more than 100% vote weight per post (259.81% and 140.21%, respectively). The 'extra' that they lose lets us use a weekly base of 7000% (10 * 100% upvotes * 7), giving every member a little more per share, and still have surplus voting power to self-vote when voting power is high enough, to the benefit of all members! Since @josephsavage is the program manager and @sneakyninja is another initiative he runs, the extra support is understandable. We won't say thank you, because we don't like to talk to ourselves, but you are welcome to say it for us! (:
We are up to 592 shares, with 272 members. There are 21 paused members and 40 inactive members. If you believe your share count to be incorrect, please let us know and we will happily check it again.

Send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the comments. You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 share in the program. You could also send 1 SBD and the extra value will be treated as a donation to the program and used for promotion or powering up.

Hi guys :-) First of all a big thank you to @josephsavage and @sneakyninja for their support! I received a pretty nice vote from you here.. I will check it better when i'm on the PC and not from this bloody smartphone. Soon I will set my auto voting bot on your posts and see if it's worth. Do you think that your project can be sustainable in the long run? I'm planning to increase more my stake (btw should be 8 now) but I just wanted to have a feedback from you. Thanks and keep up the good work!
I have your stake up to 10 on the next batch. There have been some issues with Steemvoter this weekend, but we will catch up on enrollments as soon as we can.
Short-run sustainability is fine; each member receives upvotes that exceed their enrollment cost within the first 90-day period. Long-term sustainability depends on the membership base consistently upvoting the program posts. We have seen a nice uptick in members upvoting the account this weekend, and that will improve the long-term sustainability.
We keep a close eye on all the metrics and make tweaks and refinements as necessary, so there are no major concerns at the present. We have yet to see the actual impact of delegation rolling off... there will be a sudden weakening of voting power around the 90-day mark, if not counter-balanced by enrollment growth at the same time.

You can enroll another member, but you don't have to. If you have one in mind, then you could save up for a bit. We don't know of any contests that give away shares at the moment, but @sneakyninja sponsors shares for authors that are highlighted in The Daily Sneak. There is a submission process for guest curators. If you highlighted one of their articles and your submission is published, they would get a share that way. (And you could use the SBD that guest curators earn to sponsor them, and then you and they would each get another share!)
