I am genuinely curious about this one. Needless to say, we will need some of the people living in the US to contribute with their opinion, but can some paralells be drawn with the previous US Presidential elections in 2016 and 2020?
How did they affect the crypto markets? It is a huge event from a political, economic - hell, any kind of view, after all - it is quite possibly the strongest position of power in today's world as we know it, the position of President of the USA.
What do you guys think can be expected from a crypto point of view?
Enjoy this Wednesday and let me know your thoughts in the comment section bellow!

Hmm
What if I say that it depends on the candidate who wins?
What if the candidate is a crypto lover?
I know that RFKjr (Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.) is pro-cryptocurrency. On this particular topic, I haven't heard anything to the contrary.
The leading Democrat candidate for POTUS, Joe Biden, is either neutral or anti-crypto. If anything, he is in favor of USD as CBDC. Combine this with his administration's energy policies, and he would be a disaster for anyone holding cryptocurrency.
Meanwhile, the leading Republican candidate for POTUS-- Donald Trump-- has evolved over the years. Before he was a candidate in 2016, he was a no-coiner. During his term as 45th President, he had been critical of cryptocurrency in general, but he was no longer a no-coiner; even as a skeptic, he was against the CBDC in principle. Since he left office in January 2021, he seemed to have come around to pro-cryptocurrency positions:
Technically there are other candidates for POTUS this year. However, I hadn't heard anything about their positions pro- or anti-cryptocurrency.
From what I know, RFKjr is a solid yes, DJT is a yes, and Joe Biden is neutral to a no.
