    Gridcoin and Ethereum are both blockchain technologies. However, Gridcoin focuses on distributed computing while Ethereum is trying to be a smart-contracts platform that other tools are built on top of.

    Gridcoin is more functionally similar to Golem which is built on the Ethererum blockchain using a Golem token.

    This is a great explanation. Two things should be added though to be fair:

    #1 Golem doesnt have a working product
    #2 Gridcoin does what golem says it will but costs nothing to the people requiring the computation.
