Snow and Feeder Birds

In Tacoma, WA we don't get much snow, so just an inch or two like we had last night makes everything seem different. It sure was at the feeders this morning. This Dark-eyed Junco Junco hyemalis seems like it is just checking out the snow on the grass.

This American Robin Turdus migratorius is one of the few birds under my feeder today that was not taking the sunflower nuggets in the feeders. They are fruit and invertebrate feeders, so the seeds were probably not the draw.

Dark-eyed Juncos Junco hyemalis were by far the most numerous species at the feeders today It seemed like the snow made using the feeders even more attractive than it usually may be.

House Finches Haemorhous mexicanus were also present in good numbers.

I've been taking the feeders for our resident Anna's Hummingbirds Calypte anna in at night so they don't freeze solid.
