mempool is almost at 300,000 transactions. That means that you're waiting in a HUGE line. Furthermore even if you selected a high miner fee to get your transaction through quickly there is a chance that by now its been outbid. OK, that makes sense, as for moving to another coin, I live in Honduras, changing Bitcoin to our local currency is difficult enough, I believe any other alt coin would just be so much more of a problem.
