The Spanish Senate votes to regulate the cryptos

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Spain has joined the queue of countries that seek to control the cryptos in this case has been in the form of a motion to "assess the regulation of crypto to ensure legal security and avoid fraud"

I suppose that the intention to regulate this market, means first of all to recognize that it exists and secondly to bring it closer to the people.

However i hate how they present it, the motion could be a bit more intelligent for example: "assess the regulation of the cryptos to ensure the success of the developers by increasing our support in new technologies"

But of course ... when the state is a fraud it can not allow someone else to take part of the cake ... They want everything!

btw we have a secret Hodl'er voting NO lmao!

i think is a good new, if they control ICO SCAM before are launched to the markets... like they did in past with mortgages and Black cards and lool...

The problem is that any State is able to decide anything. They will always rule for their own interests. And they will never have enough information in order to create a really anti-scam legislation -neither anything they treat to regulate-.

At least if they are talking about regulating it, they won't ban it like China...but I feel the more they try to regulate it, it will just push other coins into the shadows to avoid the tax monster...they won't be able to corral all of the horses and its going to frustrate them.

The only good regulation any State could do is stop regulating and disappear.

i agree but then what... mad max ?

No. As far as I can remember, Mad Max was about a society where there is no State but some communities. In those communities there were people who ruled and other people who were ruled by them. That's a small version of the State, but still a Statist world.

Just take current society and remove all kind of State, what is left? People, a flat society. Some of that people will work in corporations or small business. Some others will not -and will have to discover a way of survive without the help of the State. Also they will have to become responsible, because if they fail there will not be a State to bail them out.

And that's all. People living their own lives the way they like and someone providing the services that people need. We don't need anything else.

Pure utopia which i love because the "utopia" like Eduardo Galeano said: Utopia is on the horizon. I walk two steps, she takes two steps away and the horizon runs ten steps further. So, for what does the utophy works? For that, it's good for walking.

I think regulation is a good thing. Either way crypto wins. Here is how:

  1. Markets are regulated and penalties are assigned to (what would become) illegal schemes such as bitconnect or pump and dump groups. This stablizes investments and helps to protect individuals. This would flod those "stabilzed" crytpos/markets with new investor money.

or

  1. They over regulate it or they outright ban it. This would moon shot the fuck out of deregulated exchanges and anonymous currencies like monero.

Either way, Crypto wins.

i agree :)

Worrying... Isn't it? Doubt they will regulate it thinking about the common good and what is actually the best for people and citizens. Banks and traditional financial institutions have too much power -not to mention other corporations that aren't necessarily banks but can interfere in Government's decisions...-.

Bienvenida a steemit @isabelrbenitez in spain i'm not worried.. i'm sure our talented politics see the crypto's as a new way to profit themselfs, so any regulation will be soft.

Can you extend on your post or know how cryptos are being dealing with in other countries?

that would be too long, but the resume could be: Basically there would be 3 large groups of countries, Japan where bitcoin is already official currency and where some companies even pay salaries in bitcoin, another extreme Chinese where a week ago they have banned and then the rest that are either in the regulatory phase or control

i paste here this decent article (1 year old) so you see it in prespective:

Is that bad news?

nah, no1 cares about spain, besides they just vote to decide what to regulate before they vote again lol
