After my post about dedicated for mining Nvidia/AMD cards a lot of people asked in comment - but how do i start mining?!
This is almost out of the box method and works on many systems not just Windows.
I wont speak of other things you can do on the platform or what fees they take etc, just will stick to how to setup mining in less than 10 minutes with 0 knowledge.
MinerGate Software.
There is few of those but this one is the easiest and most platform friendly.
Since some people ask who are them, its a company that is behind Changelly (where you can exchange on the fly STEEM to BTC ie) and HitBTC (exchange with STEEM).
First get to THEIR WEBSITE and register.
Login and Download Software
Its for many platforms so im sure your computer fits.
Login to Software
Run Benchmark (a test).
Dont worry of low numbers, alts jump high in a year ;)
Start Smart Miner
Now choose Smart Miner Tab and Run It
Choose Preffered Coins
If you dont want smart miner which auto detects best coins but ie you feel something will pump choose it and mine yourself.
And you are set.
Mining Doesnt Get Easier Than That
Other company but windows only is NiceHash and has some harder benchmarks and more coins but for start stay on MG and move up the more and more you learn how all this works.

Hello while it is good that minergate has all these kind of interface to help the beginners to kick start with their mining business, when the investment increase or when one get more experience, one should find an alternative way to mine because minergate do not utilize the best a GPU algo would give you.
while i generally agree, the latest gui definitely helps a lot (1.6.8). i'm getting much better (read: 200% better) hashes on XMR with just GPU versus 1.6.6. that and you can get a nice slow drip on some crappy laptop.

i personally think it is a bit hard to get some good earnings without spending a lot of energy. Beginners must have a big capital to start mining with. minergate would not give earnings as someone would expect. unlike GPU, but could rather get your computer damaged and the problem if you only have one.
Solar Panels (also install it at work iin offfice buildings and at schools where they already leavve compuers on all night might as well get some use out of all t hese computers sitting aroound, honestly it is helping humanity the eletricity is fuckinworth it evenif its unproftable bbeecause the coin will be worth so much money one day even Bytecoin will be worth $100s of dollars
An idling computer vs a mining computer are two totally different things. Mining hardware generally has a lot shorter lifespan because of the extreme usage and heat generation. You would be stealing electricity and possibly "vandalizing" your school's or company's computer.
Your claims that mining is worthwhile are pure speculation. Although I obviously hope they will come true.

@kingscrown I think there is a key detail missing from here. The time it takes Minergate servers to confirm mined coins depend on the platform (pc vssmartphone).
So even though you have mined 10 coins, unless the servers have confirmed them, they just sit in your account.
For those who are holding their coins long-term, this may be fine. For people trying to convert the mining into income, this proves challenging.
Mining doesn't get any easier than this! I've tried mining before but with my hardware just was not worth it. If I decide to invest in some new hardware I may have to try this for sake of how easy it is. Thanks for bringing something new to my attention! Surely this is going to help a lot of people out!
It is quite amazing how far mining has come.
From obscure command line and potential graphics card driver issues, to suddenly a simple UI and auto-mine capabilities.
I'm curious if these coins will have a higher likelihood of success because of things like Minergate, or a lesser cap because they are much more widely accessible immediately.
Been running it for a week now in the background of my desktop:
I downloaded MinerGate last summer - it's got a great interface, and is ridiculously easy to use. But, just a friendly reminder - if you have a standard laptop (which, by those numbers, it looks like you do) - and you pay standard power rates, you will actually be running a deficit. (ie- your power will end up costing you more than the value of all the coins you can mine.)
So, I don't want to sound like a Negative Nancy - but just a heads up, is all. Happy Mining! :-)
hell yes they will, bytecoin is basically rockin because of minergate and it created SO much advertising for it! Bytecoin doesnt spend anymoney on ads so imagine what minergate did for it! peopel already knew Monero but it also got quite popular because of #minergate and etc and eth of course theyd ont need minergate HOWEVER if u look at the total ETH mining on minergate it oes mke up a pretty nice lil chunk of total ethereum mining in the world!
Also Monero is definitly getting free advertising with minergate just being on here, and DigitalNote also , i didnt mess with any of the non BCN, XMR, ETC or ETH coins becase i didnt know about @bittrex i oonly saw the four cins that @poloniex has, but now i know all of the coins onminergate can be sold for BTC easily on bittrex
anyway u should install it on ur android tablets if u have some old ons laying aroound, i trid installin minergate onan old laptop but it was Vista and u do neeed at least windows 7 for minergate lol i love minergate! they also have a affiliate progam when ur logged in on the main website u can see some cool data abdout the ntwork and ur cooin US dollar worth and how much uve mined so far etc and also LEAVE the little awarrds and letthem show up! they REALLy make u feel good when they give u acomplihsments for mining multiplle coins or for more than 3 days straight etc its so fun!

Well I don't know, I wasn't getting anything in my wallet but I don't think they complete a block in 2 days on minergate. I saw a bunch of sites today that say minergate is not legit and is scamwear that get's other people to mine for them and never pay out. I think I make more writing content here than mining at this point.
I tried running minergate on my laptop my benchmark was terrible, I ran it anyways for a day just to see how it went, I am pretty sure I would have had my hardware start to get burned out if I had left it on for any considerable amount of time. It is a neat idea and software and could definitely be a good idea if you have a decent setup but just be aware it could decrease the lifespan of your comp.
Also don't run it on an 8 year old laptop ;)

I was going to ask how hot does your computer get?! Is your computer constantly running? How much money would you make a week with a high speed basic computer?
In my case (remember I was running it on an 8 year old laptop, not the ideal set up lol) my comp ran hard, lot of heat, fans hdd being pushed hard. That is why I stopped.
If you have a decent desktop with agood gpu and decent cooling setup I am sure it would work much better, but remember it uses a lot of power/electricity.
I know some ppl that mined BTC early on and spent more on electricity than what they got in BTC....but that BTC is now worth a fortune, so it was a very good move lol. It is hard to say how much you can make with such volatile prices.

Unfortunately with any mainstream computer, and with standard power rates, you will end up paying more in electricity rates than what you can get for mining even the best coin that the program recommends. Now, if you get a special GPU and a high end system (and have really low power rates), you might be able to make some money. But, otherwise, just consider a fun little hobby.
I have had it running on my system since last summer. I just use it occasionally, and have a few bucks in the bank - but as others have mentioned, it's also a real strain on your hardware.
Do you just have it running on a normal computer? A rough ball park estimate, how much would you think a special GPU and high end system cost?
yeah, just on my standard laptop.... like 5 years old... I also have an Nvidia GPU, so I get some extra hash power w/ that - but still, not enough to make it profitable.
oh, I'm guessing you'd have to spend upwards of at least $4K USD to get a set up that's profitable.... I really can't say for sure. Look into special mining GPU's, as I believe Nvidia is releasing a special line of them soon.
I would try to get a loan somehow to get a profitable setup:) I think cryptos are going to be the future..... Do you know of any videos showing how to hook up to Lap Top and what the best products are to buy? Would Nvidia be able to mine all types of coins? dont worry! , ur hardare would not be "burned out" minergate lets u choose how many CPU or GPU cores u wanna use, so u can use half of em or just 1 and ur ccomputer woouldnt be even notcie any sort of wear and tare....

Don't get me wrong my laptop is a beast. It has been used everyday for eight years doing fairly intensive work. No complaints on this laptop.
That being said it is older and the less strain I have to put on it the better. When I do get a new computer I will probably clean this up, do a fresh install and use it as a mining rig, but until then I need to use my comp for work and do not want to dedicate the processing power to mining.

depends on your computer and such, hard to answer
actually @wayfaraway you heeed at least 0.01 of a coin to Withdrawl, and then it is instant like any blockchain wallet, or at least takes as long as the average blockchain network speed
for bytecoins u wiill make more thanonee a day so its no iissue and u can withddrawl as many bytecoins as u want
with minergate Bitcoincloud mining u will need to wwait quite a while to reach 410 if u only are buying a few bbucks worth of mining speed ((u canbuy as little as a $3 or at lest i did now it may be more with btc price goig up
anyway for monero or ethereum u will need to wait till u have at least 0.01 XMR or Monero, so it ddepends on how long it takes ur computer to make that much, but it wont take too long, and thats justa minimum withdraw amount, u can just waittill u have moe than it

But there is a real useful answer to ur question...the answre is aroun $3000 which s what u need for the best Antminer out there which gives u the most TeraHash for the lowest price.. for example the AntMiner s9 is gonna get you 13.5 TH but Antminer S9 is the newest one and $3,699 onEbay right now.....gives u anidea of the price.....and $300 to $700 for a 2600 Watt Power Supply for it
BUT u can start with a $400 Avalon6 and get 3.5 TH so yeah u could 10 of them for $4000 and get 35 TH so actually u might be better off fnding the AntMiner s9 for cheaper ive seen some for $1500 on amazon bt thats rare!
And u need a cheap rasberry pi to to ine on these ASIC machins but ya this is wwat u eeed to do it right....
and dont ask me for the ROI its gonna be a cople months probly 90 days ok? probly alot sooner ....mine bitcoin on it....mine etthereum on GPU vviideo cards so u need a nice gaming PC with nice videocard for like $800 and it will make u about $1 a day so will take u like a year to pay off IF ethereum doesnt go up in price BUT IT WILL go upp!

NiceHash was decent. I liked that it picked a coin that is suitable for your system. However, I personally was only getting 3MH/s with a gtx 970 on windows 10.

--------------------------------------WARNING-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------This software tool sure makes it easy for you to get start with mining BUT you gotta know you wont make much money as you expected and most likely you will cop more electricity bills than what you get from those you mined for days.
There are certain amount you have to mine before widthdraw and when you widthdraw? Minergate takes about 20% for transaction fees so you gotta know these guys arent just giving away something for free actually using its users for their own good!! you just dont see it as the cost is coming later with your electricity bills then youll see

Once I buy a couple of new AMD cards gonna surely try this. I am a noob in mining but altcoins are better mined than invested. Plus there are huge rewards for enough contribution to the pool per block found. With cheap electricity, hoping to establish myself for at least 50$ / day.

Minergate is great and it really got me mining first off with my cpu now i use none gui miner and other pools as normally they get way higher hash rates and i use miningpoolhub to convert to another crypto. but none the less miner gate is great for newbs .

My Laptop did NOT use up ANy more eelectricity thanit had already been using, its a laptop ...it has a 19 volt ac adapter and i had been running this laptop at full power renering videos and using chrome with 10000 tabs for years before i mined so its not like im using any more electricity than i had already been using! PLUS i have free electricity an with olar panels u make a small investment and u get free electricity and ALL mning is profitable forever

Nicehash is also very good but little bit harder to setup and windows only

The point is CPU mining will not bring great income, I am minimum from my Alienware desktop with 1 GPU and 7 core mostly XMR is mined around hash of 100-200 Hash / sec, it will take 1 month for you to earn 0.2 XMR which is 8 USD.
My suggestion if you want seriously mine altcoin, buy a 8 GPU setup which will cost you around 1500 to 3000 USD, use it to min Zcash since it most profitable where I am rewarded 0.4 - 1 Zcash per day.

anyway u an go to ur schools computer lab and install minergate onvery single computer there ! just make sure the computers arent restarted ccuz u will ned to put in ur password and 2fa code everytime

I tried running minergate on my laptop my benchmark was terrible, I ran it anyways for a day just to see how it went, I am pretty sure I would have had my hardware start to get burned out if I had left it on for any considerable amount of time. It is a neat idea and software and could definitely be a good idea if you have a decent setup but just be aware it could decrease the lifespan of your comp.

except that miner gate still has some worthless coins and they refuse or dont wanna to update with new coins that have more demand and can be mined! they keep saying we will add new coins but its been a year since they said that and keep saying....

Hi, I would like to share with you my experience with MinerGate. I start to mining with my old computer before a month ago. After making the account you can chose from various of coins. My choice was Monero coin. For mining you can use CPU or Video card. I use the CPU, because my Video card is very old. IF I use both core of CPU hash rate is 30 H/S. For nearly 10 days in my balance I have 0.45$. Week ago they have some issues and my balance suddenly show just 0.0000. I was with version 6.6 of software, but reinstalled it with version 6.8 and now everything is OK.
