Governments are struggling to control bitcoin and blockchains, these are true tools for change and the status quo does not like change, especially if it empowers the people by taking power away from centralized banks and government. Remember the golden rule...the one with the gold rules, they don't want to lose control of the gold
I am looking forward to this disruption. It's no different than the way the taxi companies have had the local gov't keep Uber and Lyft out of the airports. Eventually though the Taxi will fail. Then the Gov't will be looking to get that Medallion fee from the Rideshare companies.

Well, they already have laws on the books that they can confiscate all your possessions if you are found to be a terr orestrian.
So, the owning of gold, silver, 7 days of food, or bitcoin is an automatic admission of guilt.
This law is just so that they do not have to seek you out to know where the bitcoin is.
I understand that each government wants a way to tax any and all income. Yet at what rate will bitcoin be taxed. This is a way to keep up with the times. I my self have not had an income and I am not sure I will make a taxable income this year. That being said what am I to do when understanding bitcoin is at this point to far beyond compriension.

this is a violation of our right to own property. the law may not make an assumption that users of the currency are all guilty and thus punishable by these punitive damages just for using the currency. this is equivalent to saying that just because you buy gas from Chevrolet is directly sponsoring Saudi Arabian terrorist groups. unless Senator Chuck Grassley knows of direct links between bitcoin ownership and the illegal acts he is accusing the users of this software is a violation of personal ownership rights.
