IBM has completed the blockchain project with French Bank Crédit Mutuel ARKEA, using innovative technology to create a system of identification.
Conceptually, the project uses "factory block" Hyperledger to allow customers to provide identification to third parties, for example, local utilities and retailers. IBM and Crédit Mutuel tremelos to indicate the proof of the correctness of the application of the concept of bitcoin, which shows us how the blockchain is used in non-financial applications.
Manager of innovation Department of Crédit Mutuel Frederic Laurent said
"This project offers a complete view of customer documents across our distributed network and will help us to understand and master the blockchain for other purposes."
Looking ahead, Laurent said that the Bank is ready to incorporate the technology in their ecosystem, although he did not provide more detailed information about where and how this technology will be used.
The news came just at a time when French financial institutions have become more active in the research of the technology of the blockchain, despite the negative views of some famous politicians.
Last week, BNP Paribas and Caisse de Dépôts was among several French and European financial institutions revealed that they are working on a blockchain platform for post-trade operations with small businesses.
In addition, IBM is becoming more active in demonstrations of the work done with their clients within their blockchain offers. Previously, IBM has opened in new York workspace designed to support the technology of the blockchain.
