Yes, if crypto eventually morphs into another conventional marketplace where the cartel, that is to say the banks, corporations and governments, infiltrate the cryptosphere to the point of control we are all back to square one. But for now I think the grassroots still have it. Let's hope we can keep crypto an even playing field.
Just turning to another matter, I'm sure from your name and our discussions you have a French connection, is that correct? If so I was wondering what your thoughts are on the very worrying developments I saw in France yesterday regarding a court ruling barring Marine Le Pen from running in the next French presidential election. I couldn't quite believe it.
We have seen several senior French politicians in recent years being convicted of financial crimes, including former president Nicolas Sarkozy and Christine Lagarde, but none have ever been banned from public office.
What that judge did yesterday is very dangerous I think, given the increasing popularity of Marine Le Pen who is close to winning the presidency. Whatever your politics, banning candidates for no good reason is a dangerous precedent. The judgement was clearly political and that is a dangerous road to go down. The judge is playing with fire.
May I ask for your thoughts on this worrying development?
Greetings @peaceandmoney ,
Thank you for the reminder that there is loads of crypto in the hands of grassroots....perhaps that will be enough to make the difference.
There is no doubt that the situ in the case of Marine Le Pen is quite serious. She has played it relatively safe so far. Really just pressing until there is undeniable support for her and then letting it ride...until the time is right....however it looks like the courts were having none of it this time. I have kept an eye on her for several years now...her father was in politics and she has worn that mantle well.
It is a dangerous precedence and does not bode well for France.
Below is a list of other countries trying this route.
I wish it were not so. I do not know how it can turn around without going through some very hard times....it looks like they have gone past the point of no return. It is times like these that the Charles Dickens classic...A Tale of Two Cities...looms large in my thinking and I fear the worst.
France is a country that I have great regard for...for several reasons...it will always be dear to me....but the France I knew no longer exists.
Thank you for your query and the opportunity to dialogue....appreciated hearing your thoughts.
Kind Regards,

Thank you @bleujay for this response I was quite unaware of the End Wokeness Twitter account but one I shall be keeping an eye on from now on, I am delighted that such an account exists.
It is quite worrying to see how many countries have tried eliminating the opposition through illegitimate means, even more worrying that many of those countries are supposed to be well established democracies. The irony they use the banner of democracy to stifle it.
You may despise someone's politics but if they are legitimate candidates with huge support from the electorate then democracy has to prevail.
I do hope Marine Le Pen has her appeal heard before the next French presidential election. Otherwise there will be millions of disenfranchised French voters who may decide to take matters into their own hands, it's not impossible.
For the moment I do hope her supporters will be very vocal and if necessary take to the streets to ensure Marine Le Pen's appeal is heard swiftly and that the right outcome prevails.
By the way in relation to her conviction do you think she did what she has been convicted of or not? I'm also aware that most French banks didn't want to touch her at one stage and she has struggled before to get funding for her campaigns, I think she was forced to seek some financial support from Putin at one point, but don't know all the details. It wouldn't surprise me therefore if she did try paying her staff anyway she could.

Greetings @peaceandmoney ,
Thank you for reminding me about the funding issue...I do recall there was a rumour about Putin.
As far as whether she herself committed the crime...it is hard to believe that she did. The pattern of using the law to rid the political system of the opposition is rather apparent by now.
I personally like to think that the public is ready for an authenticity that was not present before. Whether we will see honour, leadership, virtue, etc. remains to be seen. These things are cyclical...sometimes short cycles, sometimes long.
There is a book...'Blood in the Streets' by James Dale Davidson and William Rees-Mogg .....that has a foreword in which the last paragraph mentions the spiritual factor cannot be overlooked in it's effect on history. An excellent book by the way...rather timeless...since history repeats itself. ^__^
