During the last weeks we experienced a huge price rise on almost every altcoin out there, which lead to a diminished Bitcoin Dominance of only 35% at the time being. The last time it has been so low people started to put their earnings back into Bitcoin pumping it straight up to new all time highs of more than $20.000 USD.
So that being said could we be at that point once again? Could it be possible that Bitcoin will see another huge rise of epic proportions above the previous highs? I actually think so and already shifted some of my Altcoin holdings to Bitcoin to not miss out on the next rise 😉
Taking a look at the price of Bitcoin today you might actually think that the rise I and many others expect to happen is already initiated as we´re back above $16.000 USD and not too far away from the old highs.
I´m more than curious what´ll happen during the next days and weeks on the market as many people are just waiting on the side lines to get into the cryptocurrency market in 2018. The next price rise on Bitcoin will therefore probably be even more epic than any other before as the fear of missing out hits more people than ever before.

The biggest ever FOMO is yet to come...
I had exactly the same feeling this morning. Good news on BTC got totally ignored during the altcoin pump and technically BTC broke through a technical important level and hyped coins as Ripple sold off. BTC is still the only coin that will be bought by the big boys (Wallstreet, big banks, govs) and interesting 2nd layers will be rolled out this year.
Second layers? Meaning new bitcoin applications?
Most of the world thinks crypto means bitcoin and that's what they will buy. I think we are about to see bitcoin see new ATH.

I think with bitcoin futures trading in full swing - we can expect a MASSIVE rise followed by leveling then a MASSIVE drop followed by leveling, and repeating to infinity, I dont think we are anywhere near stability not for a long time!
I agree with this. I think we have some new ATH prices in the near future but also I think we could see 5k again.
I think January will fluctuate slightly on the basis of current prices. The traditional January is the month of consumption. In the first month of the general new year, every country will introduce some monetary policies, which are relatively conservative in this period. I think there will be a big increase in the number of digital currencies in the 2-3 month of this year.

The time has come indeed,we the believers of crypto knew that the price of bitcoin will rise even further than the previous highs.
I guess the news of Facebook CEO adopting bitcoin in the future has brought this price spike.
Let's wait for the best as new people will be joining soon after bitcoin Wil reach new highs of 25k soon.

I think that the price of Bitcoin will be fairly uncertain this year. I do believe that it will rise in value for sure, but with Ripple showcasing the utilities of altcoins to the general public, it won't be a case of newbies having only heard of BTC before.
This could lead to a multitude of scenarios, the one that I would like to see happen is that BTC keeps a strong market dominance (which, despite its recent lows still has if you compare it to traditional asset dominance in other industries), but the altcoins that have great features and use cases will rise in value.
I think we´ll see all those scenarios to happen in 2018. It´ll be a huge up and down but in the end all the great coins will coexist and steem will be in the top 10 ;)

Bitcoin price should stable otherwise it will face questions about it's rationality.
People who constantly state that it is going to moon seemingly forget the technical aspects behind Bitcoin. Right now Bitcoin has major limitation in terms of transactions processed per second, otherwise known as scalability, which if left unaddressed will see it slip from relevance entirely. It could very well achieve new highs if the proper steps are taken to ensure it can adapt and overcome. That being said it could also suffer a slow crash and burn.
Bitcoin won't go down. It's nlt ready yet for mass adoption but with lightning that'll change, too. If BTC dies the face of cryptos is gone and the whole market will crash
Not necessarily. We are reaching a point where the wider cryptocurrency ecosystem is beginning to diverge from Bitcoin. This statement would be more applicable last year. If Bitcoin was to completely crash right now I believe that it would negatively impact the price of other coins to a severe degree. Yet this would be temporary, and we would likely see a migration to another standard as the top coin positions itself into Bitcoins place. There are plenty of alternatives albeit most of them suffer from the same issues or even more than Bitcoin. Thus I find this scenario highly unlikely but possible. I truly believe Bitcoin will evolve to a meet the challenges presented. The fact of the matter is that cryptos are in the public mind like never before, and they are not going away.
I think it can go higher but BTC has hit a wall. It has some issues it needs to overcome before it can really go higher. BCH is the better bitcoin right now.
Before I put any of my funds in BCH I rather hodl fiat...

Am overwhelmed by your faith,this is really faith that moves mountains,indeed am as well very expectant in the value increase of the Bitcoin,its true am one of the lately born babies on the steemit platform just a few hours old,who really believes in the tremendous success of the cryptocurrency who intends to enlighten my fellow Ugandans about the digital rewards when i accumurate more knowledge about it since the majority are still ignorant.However i surely believe that in a blink of an eye,the Bitcoin is gonna rise,thanx for possessing such faith coupled with an action,maximum respect just.
i do always tell people that bitcoin has its special advantages compared to other cyptocurrencies but still many people still refuse. to day, bitcoin has gone high and people are just there looking at me. there is a reality happening and people should start grabing the opportunity before its late.
i do invest in bitcoin and pretty sure that the growth rate is good and will be awesome in the near future

Bitcoin will moon again to take the spot it reached and maybe surpass it however I see other altcoins rise up this year, just like the way bitcoin surprised everyone.
