Great article. The cinnamon you’re consuming needs to be ceylon instead of cassia. Ceylon cinnamon is better for you internally and doesn’t have any of the side effects that cassia has. Some of the best ways to get cinnamon in your diet is by adding it to your morning smoothie or a homemade dessert.

would you add cinnamon to a daily protein shake ? or have it with a desert ..

Well, you forgot to add which cinnamon, because some are actually toxic. The real one with full benefits is Cylon cinnamon!

Its really great a controlling blood sugar, Big Pharma wouldn't want you to know that though

I take a square of 92% dark cacao chocolate, melt it over a low heat, add 1 tsp cinnamon and a little stevia to sweeten. Pour it onto a piece of waxed paper and let it harden. It's like having a piece of candy that is actually good for you, but very low calories and carbs.

What a nice post, I actually though cinnamon raised your blood preasure and tried to avoid it, but now I know it's actually good not only for its scent.
Thank you.

My husband has high blood pressure, and I use cinnamon to regulate his blood pressure.

Cinnamon is one of my favorite spices

Great read, unfortunately i'm allergic, so i cant benefit from the goodness. I can only enjoy the smell.

Love cinnamon! The story of cinnamon is a fantastic one too! Fun fact, the Dutch uswd to own Manhattan island and the English owned Suriname. The traded these plots of new world real estate and for a long while the Durch thought they got the vetter deal because Suriname produces cinnamon. NYC is now some of the most expensive real estate in the world!

I love cinnamon. I use it cinnamon sticks, powder and I use cinnamon essential oil topically (diluted) and I also diffuse it and take it internally.

In the spirit of cooperation, I want to contribute to the author and the steemit community what I've learned about antioxidants.

First, I researched the OTAC scale and it is not an antioxidant measure. This scale was referenced in a source link in the article which lead to a Dr. Axe article. Dr Axe also incorrectly references OTAC without a breakout of the acronym or a link to the scale.
I found this and it isn't what we're looking for...http://www.otac.info/

The scale people should seek out for antioxidant scores is
ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorption Capacity)...the website for this is: https://www.superfoodly.com/orac-values/

What has been learned from studies of blue zone cultures and longevity (see Dr. Joel Wallach's book, Immortality) is that the minimum daily ORAC for good health is 20,000 ORAC per day. And if one is suffering with severe oxidative damage, then the daily values need to be raised to 100,000 to 200,000.
Most people only consume approximately 1500 ORAC per day. Should we be surprised at the numbers of people suffering from inflammatory disease?

Antioxidants are just one of three essential categories of ingestibles for humans to consume each day in order to support the structure and function of the human body...to repair and maintain optimal nutritional wellness.

I agree with the author about the high ORAC available in cinnamon.
I hope my comments are helpful.

Very informative! This was a college dorm room delicacy for me. Like bacon and ketchup, cinnamon goes good on everything!!

Cinnamin goes back to BC China as a method to meditate on life's path only known a s discovered in Zen.

I try to remember to take a cinnamon tablet every day.

Cinnamon might have these health benefits , in order to tap to its full potential the amount, type, and preparation matters

Are all cinnamon the same?
Cinnamomum verum -- which is native to Ceylon I hear this is the true cinnamon . Any input ?

I remember my mom giving me some cinnamon drink to boost my immune system! :) @dcrypto Steem on!

Great Article! I really enjoyed reading this and it gave me some things to think about, like where can I add a bit of cinnamon to my every day meals. With heart health being a problem on both sides of my family I can probably use all the help I can get.
