RE: Beware of scams

in #blog2 years ago

One must check and recheck before clicking send with crypto transactions. People do things in a hurry, when tired or preoccupied and that can lead to errors.

Not that long ago I sent about $1300USD of Hive from one exchange to another. It was Hive, but I sent it to my HBD wallet and...gone. I raised a ticket, jumped through some hoops and some three or four weeks later it came back. I got lucky and my error, through being tired and preoccupied, taught me a good lesson.

The deepcrypto account is just taking advantage of other people's errors; if the error wasn't made it would gather no Hive. I hope no one else makes the error, but sadly they probably will.

It was Hive, but I sent it to my HBD wallet

This happened to me sometime back as well. I think I wanted to take advantage of a Hive price spike. Luckily, I was able to recover the money by also sending the exchange a ticket.

For her though, it is just sad people take advantage of others like this deepcrypto dude. One best option is to always use the "copy" address option to avoid misspellings.

Yeah, it was a dumb mistake I made and I knew the instant I clicked send. I was so annoyed. It worked out though, as with you.

This other situation...I guess the account holder is just being opportunistic, but yeah, not something I'd do. It takes all sorts to make up the world though huh?

So glad you were able to recover your money @galenkp and I hope this post alerts people to be more cautious

Thanks again for all the invaluable help @galenkp
