Good morning Steemit

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

A little later than usual, but I had a contest to judge.

The entries for the #marveloustales contest are in, so I've been busy reading all of them. We had six this week, how awesome is that? The Steemians over at the Fiction-workshop picked this up, making my job a little harder (but very much enjoyable). There can only be three winners! Even though I liked all of the entries, I've picked my winners now. Just gotta wait for post payout. I'm not sure yet if I'll be posting the results and new contest today or tomorrow.

In other news, I'm training my horse in Black Desert Online, surprise, surprise. I already had my tea and just finished my breakfast. No berries this time, because I was too lazy to pick them. I'll do some chores around the house today and I'll have to think of something to eat tonight. Well, it'll be chicken at the very least, but we can't just have chicken with nothing else!

I have it in my head that I have to do groceries, but I don't think I do. Tomorrow maybe. It's because my food plans for yesterday changed last-minute. We had some salmon left and brie, so I googled 'salmon brie recipe'. That eventually led to us eating this:

And let me just tell you it was very tasty and worth repeating! It's a simple pizza with brie, onion and salmon. We had potato salad with that. Soooo... definitely need more veggies today!

And I made something else, my dear friends... It's my boyfriend's fault for switching to the cooking channel yesterday morning, before going to work. Mister Jamie Oliver was making delicious little desserts. I didn't have the ingredients he did, but I liked his idea, so I whipped up something similarish. I'll share that with you all later on. First need to get all of my pictures from my phone.

I'll leave you with this idea of tasty food. Sorry!

Have a good day!

P.S.: I wrote a little about plagiarism yesterday. Go check it out!

Hahaha.. Very Yummy!

Haha, it was indeed :D

looks delicious ! I love Salmon , Mmmmm!👍😋😋😋

Thanks a lot Karen! It really was delicious, I'm glad it worked out this well :D

Experimenting with foods and copying recipe on TV or online is how I learned how to cook. I love salmon too! hmmmm! :-D

Salmon is great :D

I guess I mainly learned to cook from my mum. I did improve on my skills and repertoire by trying out recipes online and in magazines. I love replacing ingredients aswell!

I never really watched a lot of cooking shows, but maybe I should more often. They do apparently give me some good ideas :D

You are a wonderful mum. My mum bought me a recipe book because she doesn't cook much. Lol!

Cooking shows like Master Chef in the Philippines is what I enjoy watching when I have time. :-D

I certainly don't envy you judging the contest. It can't be easy.

It really isn't! I was wishing for more entries for quite a while now. Guess you really do have to be careful what you wish for. I also feel soooo under qualified to judge, as I'm not a writer myself. Simply a reader of fantasy books mostly.

Oh well, I'm doing the best I can. It's bound to happen that it comes down to personal preference a bit. If I keep getting a nice amount of entries for this contest, I might start looking for guest judges from time to time! Would be interesting to see and hear what they look for in their winning entries :-)

It is YOUR contest, so no one can question your choice. But you are open to more than stories, right? There is a poetry workshop starting now also. You might want to make sure they notice. Then you'll really have fun picking winners. ;-)

Oh yes, any creativity is welcome! Poetry can paint stories aswell, though I'll admit I'm not an avid poetry reader. I'll still be able to pick out the ones that speak to me most :-)

Is this all happening in the PAL channel on Discord?

Yup. On PALnet there is now both fiction-workshop for fiction writers to critique and help each other and a new poetry-workshop for doing the same for poets. There are some great poets involved in starting it, so I think we can expect great things in the near future. Several people are active in both, from what I understand. ;-) I don't think I will manage a new entry in this second contest... My brain is pretty lost in the world of Misty Vale. Not ready to let go of them.

Awesome, those workshops sound like great ways for artists to reach like-minded people and get some feedback!

Ooh, well dwell inside that world for a little longer then :-)

Somehow the pizza looks like a small cracker with salmon on the photo haha.
But a delicious looking one though!

Wow, now that you mention it... it kinda does, doesn't it? Well it tasted good, no matter how big or small it looked :D

When I saw the small picture, I thought it'd be pizza but.. noo. I feel like I've been betrayed. It doesn't seem what I expected it to be.

:'(

Oh my gosh, but it is pizza! It's just a salmon and brie pizza :D

Oh ok, I can agree it's a pizza. However I thought it would have been a different kind of pizza ;)

Sorry for doubting you and your pizza though, I had pizza today too.

Haha, I understand how it doesn't completely look like a pizza and hey, it doesn't have any tomato sauce ;-)

Yum, what pizza did you have?

I'm not in a position to mock your pizza, as one of my favorite pizzas is a pizza with no tomato sauce, but cheese, marshmallows and chocolate sauce. Yum!

However I ate a pretty regular pizza, with tuna, shrimps and a lot of garlic. Pretty basic :(

Wait, marshmallows and chocolate on pizza? That sounds so wrong, yet delicious!

Your fishy garlic pizza sounds good too though. Can't go wrong with garlic :D

It is delicious! I got in a pizza place which had some kind of "dessert week" and they had this pizza as a special one. It was amazing! If you try it, just first put the pizza bottom and the cheese in the oven. When the pizza is ready, take it away and put (small) marshmallows and the chocolate sauce on pizza. The marshmallows will melt on the pizza, if you put them into the oven they will just burn.

Fishy garlic pizza is good :) They put garlic fresh after baking the pizza so it's really tasty. Sometimes almost all I can taste is cheese and garlic.

Looks Amazing, i need to make something like this by myself!

You definitely should! It's easy to make, the most annoying part was the pizza dough, because I didn't actually have the right ingredients, but it worked out alright anyway. If you cheat and get a pre-made pizza bottom or pre-made dough, it's even easier :D

That pizza looks good! I could eat salmon for breakfast lunch and dinner ;)

Hmm sounds like a plan! :D

Wow...I think it is very tasty....mmmmmmm...
Great work @playfulfoodie
