My Doubts On Supload

in #blog8 years ago (edited)

In my previous post on Supload, the image hosting service that pays you Bitcoin, I announced that I will be moving my Steememe blog to their platform. After some observations I figured out that about 100 views are worth $0.01. According to their rules in order to withdraw, one would need at least 1$ Bitcoin in revenue.

Watching the numbers, making a profit is out of the picture. Nevertheless, I still use the service to store the images. After using it for some time, I noticed that the most popular pictures over there are usually pornographic, and most users spam the system for views. There are also bots. Tags don't really work, there is no search option and there is absolutely no censorship, plagiarizing and stealing other people's work without giving credit is everywhere. It also seems that the people who manage it don't really pay attention to all these issues.

I opened another account and started to upload pictures to see how quickly and how much content is needed to make a real dollar.

Here are the results

After reaching my first well deserved dollar, I tried to withdraw, but I got this message:

After 24 hours I tried again with no luck. I emailed them, but got no answer. I sent them a message over Twitter and got this reply.

At least I got some response, but does this mean I need to contact them every time I earn some satoshi?

I will keep you updated how things work out. I hope they will start to manage their platform or it will be taken down sooner or later by negligence.

Make your own conclusions, but I will be switching back to Tumblr. At least when they put sponsored material is not on every page and has proven to be a stable microblogging platform.

How did manage to get views?

I uploaded nearly 5000 images

I upload too many pics so supload is great. My question is how big are their servers and will they ever go down? We need a supload Blockchain.

Thank you for your sharing about supload !

Thanks for reporting
I tried to contact them but I did not get any answers :(
