A blog is also known as Weblog. It is a personal online diary or you can say journal which allows you to share your thoughts and ideas , you can add video, games, pictures, music, you can read comments visitor leave on your blog. you can do all these things without the need of any programming knowledge.

Understanding your niche would make you understand and do well as a blogger. So it means that your blog should be about what you know about and your area of great passion.

Who are bloggers
Bloggers are individuals who have a voice and feel the need that their voices be heard. Blogging may be about your day to day activities, what you are doing, eating or anything you feel like posting.

As a blogger no body questions what you choose to do with you blog as far as that is what you want to offer to your audience or community and they love what you give them.

However, it is very easy to stay in the comfort of your house and interact with hundreds of people through the use of the internet- very amazing. This is the avenue and opportunity that are available for anyone who is passionate about informing and educating people and at the same time earning and making cool cash out it.

To meet this demand some amazing tools have been created that will allow anyone, even people with very little knowledge of computers, to have their own blog. If you can find your way onto the Internet and follow some basic instructions you can have your own blog. It’s just that easy.

In fact, today’s blogs can provide hair tips, up-to-date news, technical information, celebrity scandal, political rumor, gets people involved in volunteering, charity and advice on investments. Also blogs about niche topics like cooking, health, gardening, sport and other areas are there these days for people that have anything to gain from these areas.

What your mindset should be when starting a blog as a newbie

  • You must be will to take the pain to share information and educate other people.

  • Be ready to always cook up new feeds frequently for the sake of your readers.

  • Be there to engage readers through comments. I think this is one of the reasons why blogs are considered as social medias.

  • The payouts might not be immediate but once you are passionate about over time your income will multiply.

Tips to building a successful blog for newbies.

Before I became and took blogging here as a full time job, I have always wanted to get my personal blog started before eventually I started here on steemit. But I remembered then, when I tell friends my intention of being a full time blogger they thought blogging was a simple and easy job to do.

Well funny thing is that blogging is more than they think it is. As far as you are communicating with people through this means, it's a company, an enterprise, school and a large dose of work but out of passion I don't see it much like work but adventure.

So am going to share some tips on how to have a successful blog on here and to the newbies.

come up with an idea of a blog post that will benefit your audience/community

Be sure to bring out some posts that will add value to your readers and community. With captivating titles and meaningful messages. Be interested in what you give out and not what should come to you.

Write like you talk
When you sit down to write, it is best you write just like you talk. Write and picture yourself talking, though silent while typing but in your mind picture yourself talking.

Blogging is not all about coming and dropping a post, it should come with you imprinted on it. Your post should have you in it. People should be able to connect with you while reading as well. Be conversational- that is one way to keep people glued to your blog.be lively and make your points clear as well.

Show Your personality
Show your personality; don't tell it. Your readers should be able to tell that this is you through your posts. Be free and happy at the fact that there are people who would read and derive something new and meaningful.

Although at first you might not be noticed as a newbie but that should not make you lose your personality or tired of trying. People want to see you more often, they want to know who you are, you have to show them who exactly you are, yes...it's necessary.

You should manage and organise your ideas
You would agree with me that as a newbie, ideas would continue to pop up in the bathroom, kitchen, dates, even in your sleep. But when trying to put all those ideas together it could really be stressful and sometimes making your post too broad and cumbersome.

So you should try to get a writing/sketch pad beside your pc or beside your bed anytime to pen down ideas as they come so that you do not get confused about the ideas running into your head and mind.

First organise your thoughts, try to put your words in order and use headers and outlines to make that post lit.

Avoid plagiarism
Well as a steemit blogger, I am categorically telling you that plagiarism is a crime. Well this is important as you have to pay respect to authors you might have gotten information from by referencing them in your post.

I remembered my supervisor always warning me about plagiarism then and am glad it has helped me as a blogger. So newbies, plagiarism is generally drowned at and if you would be a successful blogger you must take not of that fact.

Edit before posting
No one is above mistakes, your first posts might have so much mistakes in them but it doesn't matter at all. So, you have to learn to edit and may be read out your posts out loud to yourself or friends to see if there are things to be corrected.

Take the pain to do this as it makes you a better writer and blogger.

Conclusion

Dear newbies I know it's sometimes not easy to start as a blogger but trust me, if it's where your passion lies trust me you can only get better.

Follow the tips here and equip yourselves more from other sources. Blogging on the steemit blockchain is the best choice I ever made and I want you to also stand and say same; but be prepared to be hard working and dedicated.

I have always talked on dedication, consistency and hard work... Well I know by now you must have known that nothing good comes easy so I implore that you enjoy the journey to success. Remember that no life is perfect but anyone can still make a success story.

Easy as it looks, this is hard to keep up. But considering you got to where you are now, you must have been consistent and its sure paying off. For minnows like myself though, its most frustrating when your posts get little or no response at all.

I know that in a way this is deviating from the topic blogging. But how where you able to get your audience when you started?

I'm still just a little guy, but I can tell you the answer to that! Exactly what you just did. Find blogs that interest YOU, and leave thoughtful comments that provoke a response. If they like what you have to say, they may just follow you, and support you in your journey. Some people may follow very few people as a rule, but will notice you in their comment section, and return the favor with an upvote!
Also: contests. Great way to engage with the community and put yourself out there.

I would do just that. The contests though are barely on fair standards, most times the winners have more upvotes than the people with quality content. More like you got to have people on standby to upvote you in a contest.

Thanks for your kind words, i would interact more with posts i find interesting

I really understand you. That is why I have put up this post. One thing yoh might also include is to be original and sincere. I think that worked too.
