Thanks for your kind words @papa-pepper. I think one of the coolest opportunities that steemit has is to influence others lives and awareness. By building up a reputation, people can be trusted (or at least have more at stake) when they do a post to benefit a charity or organization.
There are quite a lot of atrocities that happen daily whether child soldiers, death from lack of food and water, forced prostitution, human trafficking, and the list goes on. While this post may not make a whole lot of money, I hope that some people will be inspired by this book or take the time to listen to Justin's interview with Joe Rogan.
It's puts things in perspective when you see the trials of some of the Pygmy people who would be willing to share what little they have, and compare that to people who complain about waiting in line for a new phone or being without wi-fi during a storm.
Taking a step back and counting our blessings is something that is not ingrained in our culture in the USA. It's about getting the next best thing to make us "happy." That's a fallacy, since things may only make us temporarily happy, but neither money nor power equates with happiness. Happiness is a mindset. I've seen happier people with one set of clothes and a rickety tin roof over their head, than some wealthy people chasing after more wealth.
I think everyone would benefit from immersing themselves in true poverty and realizing how much they have to be thankful for.
Even those in poverty here in America would be like kings and queens in many other countries, but we like to compare to other people with more instead of being happy with what we have. When I return to America from a trip to Africa, the Dominican etc. It shocks me to see how ungrateful many people are.
I'm guilty of this too, but have tried to make a conscious effort to do more for others, sometimes sacrificing something I'd like to do or get to make someone else's day a little brighter.
So this would be persecuted pygmy people prosperity plan post? Perfect.
I thought it might draw a few people in and I enjoy alliterations, so I thought "why not?" Haha. I like yours as well @sigmajin - Good work!
Excellent and in depth post.
Thanks for sharing everything that you mentioned.

I enjoyed hearing about the reason for the change in his life too.
Reminds me of myself, but I'll share more about that later!
Is some of the post not showing up? The formatting looks strange as well...
Yes I'm not sure why. (Maybe steemimg was updating, but all should be good now) Thank you for alerting me to this!
You got it! It looks good now! Thanks for sharing :)
Intersting.
Followed already from before and upvoted this. Good day.
