The AirBnb Experiment: How I Impulsively Started a Vacation Rental Business

“I wonder if …”

The greatest adventures of my life usually begin with that phrase.

When I say “greatest,” I don’t necessarily mean “best.” Sometimes I mean “weirdest-smelling” or “insanely-profitable” or “almost-gave-me-malaria.”

10 MISTAKES VRBO’S OFTEN MAKE – #5 WILL KILL YOUR BUSINESS BEFORE IT GETS STARTED

Managing a vacation rental by owner property can be challenging. There is so much involved in creating a profitable vacation rental business that getting it right from the start is tough — manageable but tough. It is more than learning from a few websites and hoping for the best; adopting a strategy for marketing and operating the business professionally from the outset can yield more income and occupancy than any ad-hoc approach.

These 10 points are a sample of the most common mistakes VRBO’s make. Maybe you have done one or two and maybe you are still. Being able to take a step back and observe your vacation rental business from back behind the trenches will give you a better perspective as to the areas you need to improve your strategy.

Think it IS good to create an FAQ . I've done this in my business. Providing checklists and procedures for an employee filling in is useful, too.

I Looked over your FAQ - and 1 thing I thought of - do u routinely include your #Discounts in the FAQ ? Or just a link to that page which features the specials? (Perhaps an inauspicious LINK at the very bottom)

And when u said, " Holy moly, humans need a lot of crap".. well, I chuckled to myself. It's so laughable, and SO true, that americans seem to 'REQUIRE' a lot of stuff -- even when on #vacation & supposedly relaxing !

I've been able to innovate sometimes when camping out (like, when I'm camping I don't consider 'glamping' - I keep stuff simple).

Some americans should reduce their overall possessions, and K.I.S.S. ! The women who seem to need like a curling iron (& makeup ) to go camping .. Sheesh!

Great advice @bookingteam.com alot of people looking about that advices for their vacations..thanks for sharing sir!

nice sir.i like so much about this place and strategy

ive been there, i also liked it

Thanks for sharing as always! In the future though, it would be nice if you shared a few of the main points (ie, from the 10 Mistakes) directly in this Steemit post, rather than just saying they are all in the original post http://www.cottageblogger.com/10-mistakes-vrbos-often-make-5-will-kill-your-business-before-it-gets-started/ - in other words, I felt like this entire Steemit post was more or less an "advertisement" for the original articles off Steemit.

Just my 2 cents, in the past I remember you've been pretty good about putting quality content here :)

I think that if you're going to post here, all the information should be here. As another said, this is an advertisement to obtain business, rather than advice to the readers on this website.
