While walking along the beach getting shots for one of my #wednesdaywalk posts, I took some shots of properties overlooking the beach and thought I would share some of them in this post.
Now the owners of these beachfront Properties actually own the beach down to the high tide mark, which you can see in the foreground of this shot with the trail of Seaweed, and as you can see I was walking along lover than the high tide line which is open to the public.
Above the High tide line is private property and some of them have no trespassing signs.

This next property is well above the waterline so I guess fairly safe from the extreme high tides we sometimes get with the big storms, must be nice sitting on that deck looking over the water

And finishing off with this beautiful property, they sure have it all set up to have plenty of guests, I guess some days it must get quite busy there, alas I don't know the owner so I haven't been invited there

Maybe you can swap a picture for beach house party access :). These look like great places to spend a day or so in the summer. I like the second one in particular, overlooking the beach area.
Lol that would be nice
I did get invited to a 4th of July party st one if the houses one year and did head there but it was a huge party and so crowded I ended up leaving and going to another beach to watch the fireworks 😂

Lovely beach properties. The last one does have alot of empty loungers out front. Must be bigger than it looks from the beach
I think it may be surprising how big it is, would love to check out a couple of these properties even if I could never afford one lOL
I'm not sure I would really like to live right on the beach. It seems to me it would get pretty noisy on the nice summer days. Also if the tourist are anything like some of the ones we get in Alaska, it could get pretty ugly with trash and stuff. Actually rather surprised there is none, I guess the tides do a pretty good job of keeping it clean.
Thats a very good point, but these properties actually own the beach down to the high tide mark, so people are not allowed on the beach so they go to the public beaches in the area
People can still use the beach below the high tide mark, and is it the Historical maximum high tide mark or is it a daily high tide mark? Seems it would be hard for people to tell just where on some days the high tide would be or was. Here in Alaska on the beaches we go to high tide can be very very variable. One day you have a flotsam line in one place then the next day two obvious lines separated by 20 feet or more.
I guess most people would not want to sit in front of a person beach house anyways, never know what sort of weirdo lives in the house or how big of a camera lens they have.LoL.
Yeah the law is a bit weird in that way I am not sure how they interpret it, but i have never seen people setting themselves down on the private beaches, I personal find the idea of a private beach for each property quite absurd, but maybe thats because I never saw such a thing back home when I was growing up
Beautiful photos and very expensive properties. Like those on the Jersey shore, millions of $$$$
Ohh yah very much like the Jersey SHoe, nice to see but way out of my budget lOL
howdy there JJ! wow I wonder what those houses go for in price? a million or more? I love those 2nd and 3rd floor balconies, I'd live on those in the nice weather! great photos and it looks like such a nice beach to walk along.
I doubt any in this area are under a million even for the smaller ones
And yes those balcony views I am so envious of lol
ok well JJ just get one of those when you move out of the condo so we can get great views everyday of what's going on at the beach, you wouldn't even have to leave the house! lol..and you'd have lots of us wanting to come visit you too!
LOL its a nice dream but i will never have anywhere even close to consider buying one of these :)
oh rats JJ! hey what if Steem shoots to the moon will that help? lol.
Gorgeous houses; I've always loved beachfront homes, even though those are northern beaches (which I would freeze upon lol). Always love your photos.
Thanks kindly my friend
Those kinds of roofs always remind me of the house from the Addams family hihi :)
Lol I had never though if that now it will always come to mind lol
That last property sure does have a lot of deck-chairs. I would almost think it's a hotel. Love the style of the houses, way better than those coastlines with concrete buildings all over the place.
Ohh yes on this beach they sure have style, I think only one of these properties is rentablethe rest are owned and coccupied by the owners, I have heard some of them are just beach houses for weekends in summer they have regular houses elsewhere, must be nice to be able to afford MIllion dollar plus beach houses for weekends
Beautiful shots. That is what I am talking about. I would love to have a house like that someday. Maybe just on a small lake though, not on the ocean. Then I don't have to worry about hurricanes. Who am I kidding I don't even need a house that big. Give me a shack on a lake with a fishing boat and I would be happy.
Yeah on a lake sounds perfect to me also, doesnt have to be big and fancy just the basics and I would be happy ;)
@tattoodjay Oy Vay, I dislike private beaches intensely and so do most South Africans, simply because we believe that no one can own the ocean, or its beaches. We also have some R25 million up to R85 million palaces on some of the beaches, mostly private houses of millionaires, but I am a mountain man and will never want to live in one of those. Blessings!
Beautiful property. But in truth? I'd rather a place that was not so 'inhabited'. I just don't do well with crowds of people....
Great look at how the other half lives! Thank you for it.
