RE: UPVOTE YOUR OWN CONTENT!!!

in #buysteem6 years ago

On a purely personal level, I'm of the idealistic mind that would hope to see a Steemit what would simply be a scenario where:

  • People follow people that they like;
  • People upvote content that tickles them in whatever way they find pleasing

However.

I agree with the points you stated. I'm realistic enough to see that the above scenario I painted is a pretty far cry. There are basically two realistic scenarios here right now:

  • People self-vote to reward themselves for holding instead of dumping (mind you: one of the intended purposes of the damn coin);
  • People don't self-vote, but will instead trade votes with their buddies, resulting in the same resource allocation outcome as above, but only in a roundabout way

There's really no need to condemn self-voting as the below scenario takes place anyway.

Also, are we supposed to just get rid of all of the reasons to hold the coin? If anything, there need to be more incentives to power up and stay powered up. The resource credits are a good start, but we need more.

Being able to reward yourself is just a reward by the chain for holding onto your coins. I don't see the problem.

I, however, do find it annoying when certain people - let's call them fulltimegeeks - do the same thing as everyone else on the platform - that being upvoting and downvoting - and act like they're some big heroes of the blockchain.

I downvote, too. Where's my cape?

Sort:

I want a cape also. Dang it.

We are all fulltimegeeks on this blessed day.

Ken M anyone?

I don't understand that reference.

You're supposed to say.

Speak for yourself.

To which I would reply:

I am all fulltimegeek on this blessed day.
