My other room had the mite issue. Right next door to these girls, & no mites in here 👍 I’ve been pretty careful about cross contamination & both rooms have negative pressure & some barriers to entry. Also released some beneficial predators in this room, just in case they wanted to test the boundaries. Kind of makes sense they would rather stay in the room with fresher leaves & more chlorophyll
Good work on prevention! Most of insects will choose chlorophyll rich tissue indeed as it's mostly made of nitrogen, which is light for their stomachs. Some will actually prefer nutrient dense stuff though. I never had mites in my life, but I know they're pervasive in US. I fight borers and thrips outdoor, but I got better at it recently.
With my lifestyle, living in the woods with a 150lb dog, my house is full of bugs! Which makes for much better plants imo! Predators are a must.
I never worry about bugs on my outdoor plants. Had some thrips one year, but minimal damage. So many natural predators outside, I try to maintain a lot of good places for spiders to breed & live. Then I just worry about the mold
& I think they are well under control in my other room. Still see leaf damage, but no more webbing anywhere so I think all the predators are doing there job
