[STEEMIT] The Last Stronghold of Geniune Capitalism

in #capitalism8 years ago

Steemit moaners keep on complaining of inequality of Steemit community members' upvotes. They call for making the upvotes more or less equal so that the number of upvotes will be crucial in earning money, not the weight of those upvotes. If we introduce such a system with equal suffrage we make Steemit a totally democratic community undermining all the previous achievemnts of their members. Do we really need still one more democratic institute in our equal-to-the-bones world? Do we want to cancel the power of whales earned through months of difficult work?

I have recently published two posts about our community, namely about the system being addictive as hell and about the most typical Steemit citizens. Both posts got more than 220 upvotes but earned something like $20. The reason to moan, complain and make fuss about it? Hardly.

The fact that the posts were so widely accepted in the community shows that the topic is popular, interesting and could easily bring me much more in case in was published in the right time. Another thing is the reason why I am upvoted by some minor fish in our sea (I don't want to hurt anyone, even the smallest fish can become a giant whale). The topics chosen seem to be interesting for the newbies or those of us who have stayed with the system for not so long. Anything bad about it? Indeed. The posts should be diverse and aimed at different stratas of citizens. Upvotes with different weight give you more Steem Power and you grow. Step by step you near those of fish that can definitely change the torrents in our deep blue waters.

I don't want to say that I am absolutely satisfied with the content I see on the tranding page. But if those posts are upvoted by so many users that means that the content is interesting and precious for the system even though its use may not be transparent for us.

Capitalism on Steemit is a must. All the achievements in the lottery + work-based system should be praized with power given. That ensures the stability and advancing growth of the platform and its currency. If everyone has the same weight of their voices then the number of fake accounts and so on will grow and the system will finally collapse overflooded with bad content.

So if you notice that your posts are popular though not so high-paid that's a good sign that you can succeed and run on. Don't stop. Select new topics thoughtfully and finally you'll get a feedback for what you've done.

If im able to make 10-20$ i dont mind. But yea im slowly to my goal .
I reach 10$ every day but i have to do so much hard labour . i dont know how long i can keep doin this :p

Thank you so much @dantheman and the rest of you guys , i hit my 10 days goals today .

Never think of the money in first place. That is going to ruin you. When you are all about passion the money will come itself

I wonder what gave me some earnings today and I discovered this here. Thank you @dantheman . I don't know if you read this but today I tried to do something good for the community https://steemit.com/steemit/@timsaid/to-all-the-fishes-out-there-read-this

Do we really need still one more democratic institute in our equal-to-the-bones world?

We must not be living in the same world :)

Their hard work? You realize they weren't actually mining, like with pick axes and little hats with lights, right. They ran a cloud instance for like 3 months, and ended up with millions for their troubles. Isnt that capitalist enough.
And btw, they did it in a closed market place. It wasnt public. thats not capitalist, its a command economy... mercantilism at best.

And most of the posts on the trending page with the huge earnings are there because theyre the beneficiaries of whale bot follow lists... thats not really democracy, its oligarchy

I like steem, its made me a lot of money and i still have 6k in steem power invested. But trying to sell its bugs as features is going to do nothing except harm the credibility of the platform.

Follow your own interests and do what you love, everything else will come by itself. Anyway happiness is the best thing you can get!

I totally agree. Being envy makes us blind and we loose the vision for what counts most. Hope you will reach your goals

I'm on the road to success 💪🏼

I guess you're right. You guys are great and Steemit is an absolute privilege to be a part of.

You tell things which you don't even try to understand. For this reason what you tell sounds as shit. All what you try to achieve, it to draw attention of a whale with the flattery. Your posts gather $10 only thanks to a boat of Wang which doesn't even read what you write.

Claw people say that distribution of voices is unfair, they tell the truth. If a whale of upvote your post, you receive about $300 for him. You know how many it will be necessary voteof users with balance of the account as yours in order that you have received the same sum?

About 10546 vote. But whether there will be sometime such number of users with such balance? 30000 users of STEEMIT have also no $10. And if all of them at the same time upvote you earn your post, about 0.01 dollars.

Whales won't be able even to award in a year such number of accounts with such sums. And other people, won't begin to enter so many means into the project of 100-200 dollars it already much. You don't even try to understand what a problem, and you already open the mouth.

All of you still consider system fair?

Well, before blaming me for submitting bad quality posts and claiming that the system is unfair as hell read the post once again. The system IS unfair and there is a stratification in Steemit community. And there's nothing wrong with it. Judging from your English you seem to be from some Slavic country, maybe Russia. Judging from your posting feed you've submitted two or three posts that didn't recieve what you wanted from them. Is that the reason for making fuss now about my earning on wang only? Who are then those 219 people who've liked what I posted?
Steemit is not a fair system as capitalism is. And that is good.

You are making some good points, thank you for sharing this :)
Maybe you can learn something from my mistakes:

Steemit is the first and only time I've ever considered anarcho-capitalism as viable. For society at large, I'm still anarchism all the way, but I have to agree with the thrust of this article.

Lets not forget how young the platform is as well. As things continue to grow there will be more people going back and looking for that diamond in the rough post that has gone unnoticed or under appreciated. Take joy in writing about a topic you are passionate about and you'll never be disappointed by the rewards

First day, first article to read. 👍🏽

I agree with you. People should have equal rights, but not equal pay. It is up to the individual to put the hard work in and to see a return on their investment, which is time and energy. That is how the market works. The people vote on what brands, topics, etc. are most important.

capitalism = social engineering

All the achievements in the lottery + work-based system should be praized with power given.

A lottery is not a work-based system. So Steemit, which IS a lottery, is not a work-based system.

If everyone has the same weight of their voices then the number of fake accounts and so on will grow and the system will finally collapse overflooded with bad content.

So, fake accounts (bots) upvoting people without judging content is bad? Are you sure you want to stick with that argument?

Also, what does it matter if the content is good or bad? How would that collapse the system? And how do you know that popular content would be bad? What guarantee do you have that the current content is 'good', or will remain 'good'?
