Me and my homie with 250k worth of Cars

in #cars7 years ago (edited)

As usual, a wealthy client called to ask if there were any drivers free that night. he was so wealthy he ordered 2 drivers, one for him, the other one for his wife. Me and my friend took the job, suited up and drove him and his wife.

The guy gave us his BMW 730Ld (110K) and Range Rover Vogue (130K) and told us to come back 4 hours later. So we did what every dumb student would do, joyride. He even payed us our meal that we got during our break. So big thanks to the client.

The Vogue had a V8 engine that could do 0-6 in 6.5 seconds, which is pretty ok for a 2 ton+ long wheel base tank.
The BMW had a V6 that did 0-60 in approx. 6.3 seconds, its also a long wheel base version

Scores:
RR Vogue: 8/10, its lacking speed, but very comfortable and high ride, you feel like the king of the road.
BMW: 7.5, speed could be better, lacking some tech inside, looked pretty old compared to a Mercedes S class

A few pictures of the cars we had for the night.

very lucky to be in your shoes

Thx my friend, I hope you get a awsome side job aswell!

What a trip!

We had a Land Rover for a few years. So comfortable, and we never found a road in New England that it couldn't handle. I loved that the owner's manual was full of advice like: "Don't drive in water deeper than the running boards. But if you do, put a tarp over the grille and attach a snorkel to the exhaust."

Unfortunately the gas mileage was killer. And when it was going to cost $1200 to replace a spark plug (they're mounted on the bottom of the engine, which has to be lifted out of the car) we decided it was time to get something more practical.

Indeed they are expensive and slurp a lot of fuel. What car do you have now?

Just about the opposite: A Toyota Prius!

Love it, though. 50+ MPG and still pretty good in the snow.

Its a more practical car indeed, the 7 years of warranty are always a good pluspoint
