This monument is in the graveyard of Saint Mary the Virgin church in the village of Harmondsworth, South Hillingdon, Middlesex, England. Portions of the church were built in the 12th century.

Lovely flowers and walkways! Where is this located?
It's located in Auenstein/Germany
I've seen many graves and headstones but have never seen a headstone like on your first photo!
Is it the first floor of the tower? What do you think? Or is it the little chapel? or maybe both?
Research says that the entrance is the oldest part, so maybe that little chapel? I visited here very early in the morning before I got on a flight at Heathrow airport, which was very close by. No one was around, but it was a nice little walk to stretch my legs before I returned the rental car and got on that long flight back to the states!
The tower is very nice, love the bricks of course but you already know that. Also love the difference between the first floor and the rest. Those windows are lovely as well, not to mention the wooden shutters and the clock. Reblogged!
Thanks, luv. I had never seen a memorial stone like that before either and I thought the dead flowers gave it a particularly interesting effect!
Dry flowers are always beautiful. Back at tsu there was a tag called dryflowers or something like that and we used to post all kinds dry flowers and plants. Bragi was a big fan, I guess the initiator as well. Do you remember this? Or Bragi? He was from Iceland and there was also a woman from Iceland but can't remember what was her name.
Interesting gravestone and lovely church. The wooden doors look ancient
You could have felt like you had stepped back in time, except for the roar of Heathrow Airport right next door!
Isn't that the way it always is? haha so close but ...
lindas fotografias,las flores marchitas
Thank you so much!

interesting competition
Cemeteries are often great places to take interesting photos!
yes that's amazing
I haven't seen cemetry yet in my life. A great way to remember people.
When my husband died last year he was cremated and the kids released his ashes in some of the places that he loved best. But we still purchased a marker stone and put it in the cemetery where the rest of the family has been buried as a memorial to him. I like having a place that I can visit and take flowers to.
Sorry for your loss friend.
Not that i know of any, but marker must be a great place to go and share things to at hard times and at the times of joy.
Part of the comfort for me is knowing that his name and dates are carved in stone and will be there for generations. I have visited my great, great grandfathers grave stones and our great great grandchildren will be able to visit ours.
Nice post @melinda010100
Thank you!
Hi, my dear Melinda. Here is my photo today. I was taken at The Santa Cruz cemetery, the one I've told you about. This cross is the place where people come to worship their dead whose body was not found. It's a heavy location, with wax spreading around for many meters and the strong smell of it impregnating in each one of our pores. Candles are always burning and it's always people there when I come by.
PS: I'm nominating your post for the #dailyspotlights, by our friend @pixresteemer!
An intensely sad location, I'm sure. It is a wonderful photo and your description made me smell the candle wax. Thank you for sharing this and thanks for the Pix resteem nomination. I appreciate it!
You're welcome, luv! I know you've sensed it, and described it with the best words, as usual. Xoxo.
Amiga que bello post. Hermosas fotos. La felicito saludos
Beautiful shots! That old church is awesome looking. They really do have some of the best buildings over in England :)

That's a pretty little church Melinda. You can see the different materials it was built with over the years.
