I don't have stake in this either way, but if you have proof that @clarityofsignal has lied or fabricated claims it would vindicate your actions before all of us.

I may not agree with your flagging. But it is within your right to do it.

Which is it? Is it my right to flag however I want, or do I require your approval and/or vindication to downvote lies?

By every means you can vote however you please. No ones permission is needed. I merely meant vindication by it's definition.

Vindication: The defense, such as evidence or argument, that serves to justify a claim or deed.

You are not required to back up your claim if you choose not to. But just as anyone can vote or flag who they please, others are free to think what they will of those actions. Giving evidence in support of their case would vindicate these actions in the minds of others.

I'm not a fan of compelling others to do things outside of their will.
