Go Beyond Challenge: self improvement

Personal Challenge:
I have been struggling with how best to manage my time for a while now. I noticed this became a thing since I delved into technology as a web developer. There's a lot to learn as a developer and I end up studying even when it's time to carry out other activities, it may sound like a good thing especially in today's society where being able to focus is a problem to many. Unfortunately this is not the case because it is taking my attention away from other aspects of life, which include my loved ones and social activities.
I'm trying to handle this problem by defining the periods for study and even being online so I can set aside time for other activities. I haven't been able to do this effectively yet but I'm not giving up either. I'm also open to Suggestions as well please. Thank you.

I'm not the best time manager myself, so I can't give you advice on this haha.

I think I understand. 😀

Hey @handsome9ice! I get distracted too, and what works for me is making to do lists every day. I cross out everything I have to do and only after I'm done, I allow myself to "waste" time on the web. When it comes to family time, my big rule is during meals, no electronic devices can be present, which allows us to focus on the person in front of us without distractions.

@evecab, yea I totally agree with you that this should work, but it takes a whole amount of self-control and the ability to be time conscious for it to work. I tried making to do lists for myself but after a while it felt too regimented and like I was bound. So I had to let go off it because I felt limited like I wasn't giving myself enough room to explore and learn new things (I'm actually a sucker for learning new things), that's the major reason I had to drop that approach.
