Good luck with your lifestyle change, alexvan! As my husband is also trying to lose weight, I would be interested to hear about your insights on this new challenge. I like your suggestion about asking restaurants if they can substitute vegetables for potatoes and rice. That's a great idea!

Hey @sizzlinkmonkey, thank you for dropping by. I know the pain of your husband. It is mostly a health issue when you have a weight problem. Diabetes is a dangerous and nasty thing, so this is why I tackle this today. Tell him no potatoes! Potatoes are one of the most fat inducing foods for the body. Very tasty but also very nasty ;)

Thanks for the advice! He's been cutting down on his carbs, especially at night, and that seems to be helping with weight reduction. He also just started drinking some green tea in the morning to help boost his metabolism.

That is very good! He also needs to know that this is a long term Process. It will take months to lose it naturaly and it is a process he has to get used to it. He will need you the most because this sugar carvings are very hard. You will need to support him ;)

I bought him the green tea and don't cook him carbs for dinner. 😀 Yes, you're right, it's a long-term process - we just want to keep him on the right track!
